Although obviously i'm in the minority as a film audio professional, I would LOVE to see a revamping and streamlining of the surround sound 5.1 tools in CW.... I have to have like four or five automation lanes open in Track view sometimes (volume, focus, angle, width and front to back) to get things like footsteps to move front to back on a side smoothly and it's unwieldy, inconsistent and slightly confusing to navigate....and if I have to go from front L to rear R....ugh. I realize there's other concerns for the DAW...just a wish list item. Oh, and also more AAF file support would be great. Then i'd never have to deal with Pro Tools again when importing and exporting AAF media.
Were I to make suggestions, they might be along the lines of having it in a box shape (perhaps based on the 0-255 RGB color mapping model) as opposed to a sphere and having two sliders in the automation lanes control audio movement on an X (left/ right) and Y (front/rear) axis, respectively.... That would simplify things immensely, as opposed to navigating angle, width, focus and front to rear. Im not terribly technical so this may completely not work...just thoughts. Thanks!
