  1. Antler, thanks for listening and critiquing.  Actually, there’s already parallel compression on both the snare and kick.  I’ll keep your comments in mind though.😊

Thanks Jerry.  Many thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.😊

I like this song, everything is clear and balanced.  The melody is soothing, and the whole song makes me want to find a river real fast.  Can't wait for the other songs.

Thanks Lynn, I really appreciate the kind words.  The song was based on an actual canoe ride many years ago.  I just may have to take another trip down that river myself.😊

The furry ears smiled at this Nice 🙂

Bringing a smile to someone’s face with a song is what it’s all about.  Thank you for listening.😊

    Hi,

This is a spectacular sounding instrumental!😀

Great guitar tones and fantastic, tasty playing with tons of smooth, memorable melodies to keep things interesting.  I really loved the harmony guitar parts, they sort of reminded me of early Allman Brothers stuff, and the bass and drums sounded perfect.

This is a nice crystal clear and wide, modern sounding mix, with lots of energy, that sounds right on the money for the song style.

    Excellent work, great stuff!👍

    Have a great weekend!
    Bob

Wow!  Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.  I really appreciate your kind words.  I also checked out some of your releases.  Very cool hard driving well done rock.  My wife is a big early Def Leppard fan and thinks your songs have that high energy sound that she likes so much.  ‘Hat’s off to you!

This is quite a good mix in my opinion. The acoustic and electric guitars blend nicely and go to the right places. If I was producing a video of a canoe trip I'd definitely want to use it. Only one thing, I'd say. The 30-second synth part at 2:40 is a good refrain but maybe a different sounding synth here? Or maybe instead...  just a thought... let the acoustic have a go out front for a bit. (I assume that section might represent the 'folding area' sign you ignored. In Canada, we call that a portage). You could make it 'big' sounding like the synth part but it would be a refrain from the dreamy electric stuff yet still be in keeping with the overall guitar feel.  Of course, it's easy for me to come up with bright ideas then disappear into the night.

But be assured, I'm aware of the work you put into this, and it shows nicely.

Thank you for listening.  I like your critique but at this point I'm finishing up the mixing.  Writing and arranging are long done...'good ideas though.😊

    I liked this.
You captured the feeling of floating on a river...  then it got a little rough 🙂
Maybe the drums could feel a little bigger and a little wetter??

But that is just my take... still believe its a nice piece.

Thanks for listening and commenting.  Yeah, I always think the drums, especially the snare, could be a little wetter.  When I solo the snare it sounds like it has too much reverb but when I hear it in context it sounds dry.  Maybe the type of verb and settings?

  8. I've written and recorded 9 guitar oriented instrumental songs.  It has taken me forever but I'm now in the final mix down phase.  I'll be posting them here on a staggered basis.  Please give a listen and let me know what you think as I finish up each song.

I also found this to be a very "feel good song."  There used to be a show that ran on US television for a while that was called Due South.  This reminds me of some of the background music that was done on this series.  Very nice indeed!!

I really like the “feel good” comments.  I get the same vibe.

    Thanks!😊

You might double the snare with some hand claps or something, to brighten it? I agree it could be driving this thing just a bit more.

It's a cool jam, and all the performances are very solid. Nice arrangement, the parts all work. Cool composition.

I'd say your battle is in the drum mix. What are you using for drums?

    cheers,

    -Tom

I’m using Superior Drummer 3.  I don’t think it’s the software.  I need to keep working and refining my skills.

Thanks for listening and commenting.  Every bit helps.😊

Really good guitar on this and I liked the bass especially. The drums could be toned down a bit but that's  my only crit.

Thanks for listening and commenting.  I’m always struggling to get the drums, especially snare, loud enough.  I guess I can have a tendency to go overboard.😊

Left a comment on SC ... I think I'm a fan, great playing  (Can I hear a little Eagles in there somewhere ?)

I’m a big Eagles fan.  I’m sure there’s some subconscious influences in everything I do.  Thanks for listening.😊👍

I listened to this twice because it put me in a good mood this morning.  Overall, the performances and mix are pleasant to hear, and I have no crits.  Well done!

Awesome!  Thank you so much!  Yes, the songs title is intended to reflect a "put me in a good mood" vibe.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.
