Neville Thrashing Ramsbottom

I have a song backing track, keys only, but no click. I think I have sorted the click but having major problems trying to pan click and track. I need track R and click L. When I try panning the 'metronome' L, it all goes left and vice versa. How can you separate so I can get click L and track R? Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
