Get all those VSL freebies! The harp and string runs are absurdly good!

I always wanted one of those Patitucci six-strings!

Thought for a minute that it might be a chance to get the Tweed at $49, but nah...'course not.

What is it about Swedes that makes them able to create perfect pop songs? I remember when Almost Unreal came out as a single and I thought it was three minutes of exactly what a pop song should sound like.

Thank you, so much! I don't have a good tracking space so sometimes I record myself, convert to MIDI (Melodyne), and then use sample replacement. Other times I just "hand craft" the MIDI from scratch, which is what I did here. Very time-consuming but you can get really good sounds. That is what I did here. I used the following VIs:
- Slide: Indiginus Resonator
- Banjo: Amplesound Ethno Banjo
- 12-string: Amplesound Guitar Twelve
- Bass: Amplesound Bass P
- Harmonica: Embertone Honkytonk
- Fiddle: Indiginus The Fiddle
- Tambourine: Wavesfactory Sharine
- Djembe, Chimes, Guiro: BFD Percussion Expansion
Â
Thought this was a really great arrangement - loved the way everything fit together. It sounded like a band feeding off each other, not just a one-man dude! Really well mixed, too.

$400 worth of vienna vouchers for ($300 - $40) $260 ?
repeatable? three times, $1200 for $780?
Alas, can't use the BestService code on Vienna vouchers (that was my first thought, too!)

Happy Christmas from Auckland, New Zealand! (I guess I'm the 'other' Antipodean Craig on the forum!)

Glad to see a new library from this great dev. Their grand piano and Joshua Bell violin are two of the very best in class.Â
There was a thread on VI:control earlier in the year wondering if Embertone were still an 'active' developer - I'm in the minority who hates the Walker D (admittedly I only have the lite version) but the Bell and Blakus are lovely! As you say, really good to see them doing new things.

I really want to get their Pedal Steel...the stacked codes bring it down to $72!
But as I just took advantage of the Audio Ollie stacked glitch to get Nashville Scoring Strings, I'm tapped out. Here's hoping this will still be working come January!

How did you end up buying three copies of Sonar Producer 8?
I was going to ask the same thing!

had this on the radar as a possible UAD alt (which I have). Also have the Arturia which has been good enough the few times i've used it.
any opinions on how this might stack up against the other two (other than most likely a longer load time...)?
I thought the uad version *was* the softube version, just ported overÂ

Well, I held out as long as I could 🤣

Judging from their Imperial freebie piano library, they really know how to create a great piano sample library.Â
They sure do! Incredible instruments, especially the cfx and bosie upright.

Probably does not need to be said, but here it is anyway:

Yup; you can usually save on VSL via BestService, and often it's a pretty decent discount. I have the VI series upright bass and want to upgrade to the Synchronized plucked instruments. It's $129.63 direct from VSL, and $108.12 from Best Service!

I am also interested in this. In particular: If I own Komplete 13, do I need their pianos, or can I consider myself covered?
Noire covers a lot of ground and is top notch, but I've never much cared for the other pianos in K13. I'd definitely pick up WGII (I think that's the most recent combo of White Grand/Sister) and Rain Piano.

The White Grand/White Sister combo is awesome.

I stayed at the Paris way back when, Larry - hope you had fun!
There were lots of bf deals that caught my eye, but not many I bit on. I ended up buying
- Soniccouture's Moonkits
- Fluffy Audio's Jazz brushes
- Soniccouture's Canterbury suitcase (rhodes)
Â
Things I put in my cart but didn't follow through on...
- Skybox audio's electric bundle (+ their new Wurli 145...sounded great but I have at least 3 Rhodes VIs that I really like)
- Softube Vocoder (was *really* tempted at $38, but the demos were...crap, IMO)
- Soniccouture's Broken Wurli (next year it will be back in my cart)
- VSL Vienna Imperial (I already have both the Synchron Bosendorfer grands + various Bosies. I couldn't justify this even at 50% off)
- StraightAheadSamples Flugelhorn (sounds beautiful and I love the mellow tone, but I wouldn't use it enough for it to be worthwhile
Was sorta hoping for a reduced upgrade to EZD3 and a huge discount off some different VSL instruments, but I'm kinda glad that I can do a better job getting to grips with a smaller number of instruments.Â

So if I'm missing dedicated solo libraries for Violin and Cello, are these the ones to get instead of, say Tina Guo or Joshua Bell?
I'd definitely get Bohemian cello over Tina Guo. I only have Joshua Bell Essentials, but I'd pick Bohemian violin over that - I just like the uber-expressive sound and it's fun to play...JB(e) is still great, though, and a steal at $50

Fleer, you don't have the new cello yet, do you? I have both violin and cello purchased as UVI versions. Can I go get Gorilla versions for both now?
I think so. I bought both during the promotion/phase out and the idea was you could just get the Gorilla version when it came out. I'd assume that holds true even if you bought before the promo.
-
Acoustic bundle is outstanding!
-
If you need an upright in the foreseeable, get Modern U now. I wouldn't buy Ravenscroft again (it's great, just a distinctive timbre that isn't for me), and I don't have True Keys, so can't comment.

Absolutely! I love my pretty GUIs as much as the next person, but these are ridiculously underpriced for the sound and functionality they offer.
