Hey All,
I have just connected my 003 to Version 2023.09 of Cakewalk and found everything so far working except when you hit play the Now Time Bar moves for a few seconds then freezes and so does the counter.
Now I have seen over on the Sonar pages that ppl have come across this with no result and then other having saying to get the 002,003 working you need to disable Multiprocessing Engine which I did with no luck, I also tried a lot of other settings in the ASIO driver area but nothing changed.
Im very keen to get this rack fully functional so any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated.

I am having really bad audio drop out issues not matter how little or how many plugins or files are loaded, found a tutorial in regards to setting latency and other parameters but no change.
Had none of these issue on the previous version I was using.
Where is the link to roll back as I have work to do and this is frustrating.

In every release of Cakewalk by BandLab we include a link to "Rollback installer" along with its product release notes.
All historic product release information can be found here with links to the corresponding rollback installers. If you encounter a problem after a new release, you can try and rule out whether the problem is specific to that release by using a rollback installer. Running a rollback installer will revert the installed version to the last publicly released version before the installed version of Cakewalk you are running.
NOTES
- Please note that the rollback installers are specific to each release. i.e. you cannot use a rollback installer downloaded for an earlier release on the latest release because it will fail to run.
- If you need to, you can also go back to past versions by downloading and running rollback installers in succession.
- To get back to the latest release after running a rollback installer go to Help | check for updates and reinstall the latest update.
PS: We only support the most current version of the application. Since Cakewalk is always evolving, older versions may contain bugs and certain features may not function properly due to back end changes. Always work with the most current version of the application and directly report any problems to Cakewalk should you find any.
Where is the information on rolling back from the current version release of Version 2022 11 Build 21 64bit? I am having major audio drop out issues and nothing is fixing it and its only since the version upgrade.
Any help would be appreciated.

I responded to your post in the EA thread:
This is not new; CbB (and SONAR before it) has always done this (i.e. muted input monitoring during count-in). I'm a bit surprised this doesn't come up more often, but I suspect most users don't ever try to play during the count-in.
So why could I do it in the previous version but not now?

Have you checked in Preferences:Metronome that things are set up correctly? If you are using the audio metronome it needs to have a valid output - either direct to interface out or to an available bus. So check that routing before going down the whole re-install palava.
Presumably, midi metronome would need to have a valid midi device to output to. (not that I ever use that option)
Steve
I can hear the metronome click but my audio device I'm recording cuts out eg my guitar.

So what you are saying is your input is muted until the recording started?
That’s telling me you’re not using the direct monitoring system of your interface.
Direct USB is selected on my device which is the correct settings for my device.
I can hear my guitar no problems right up until I hit record and the metronome starts count in then the audio cuts out until the first step of the bar.

On your main toolbar section , Is your metronome turned on for both playback and recording ?
Correct both turned on, but wasn't required I previous version

There is an issue on audio when pre click of metronome count in, the audio cuts out on the armed track until it hits the point of record.
This is only come about in the update.
Having no audio on the pre click is detrimental as you often use the time to prepare to hit the start point.

Awesome I'll find the post.
I'm using a M Audio dual track 2 these days, I have a digidesign 003 sitting on a shelf but given I'm on a windows laptop it's a paper weight these days.
Thanks for your help

Yes I have twice and also tried opening another project and same issues happens.
Its only stated since the new updated rolled out a few days ago, never had an issue on the last version at all and nothing has been installed in the last few days that could be a possible issue besides the update.
So how do I roll back and will I loose files? Do I have reinstall all my plugins again?
Pain in the ***** is what it is.

No that is on, and I just noticed that there is also a good 2 sec delay after hitting the stop button mid count in before the instrument sound comes back on so there is something going on with the processing

Hi All,
Updated a few days ago and just been trying to carry out some recording, the ability to hear your instrument prior to the start of the record sequence when the metronome is counting in has gone since the latest update.
This is extremely detremental as you can not prepare yourself prior to hitting that first note.
Has something been switched off that I am missing or has something in the programing been disabled?
If its the latest version and nothing can be done how do I roll back to the previous until this is resolved as I render this version nearly useless until it is fixed.
Digidesign 003 Rack - Dididesign003 drivers - ASIO4ALL
in Q&A
Posted
Hi All,
This has been a thorn in my side for some time due to owning a Digidesign 003 Rack for many moons and watching FireWire disappear with the tides.
But with a new desktop and the addition of a $40 FireWire card I though U beauty this beast will live again but I had no end of issues due to the age of the drivers and I gave up on it again.
Today I had the brain wave idea what if there was a universal driver so I googled and ASIO4ALL came up, I came home after a day of programming and thought I'll give this a crack.
Installed the A4A drivers and it only picked up my M-Audio M Track box so I thought damn I gotta install the 003 drivers again, I did that and loaded up Cakewalk and it gave me a message saying A4A may be incompatible but I continued.
I headed to drivers through edit prefences and seen that A4A was still pointing to my M-Audio so I clicked on configure ASIO icon and then I had options to setup the 003.
Setting it up I hoped for the best.
And yep it works, timing is in sync, in and out working, monitor working, recording working, I've only setup up input 1 & 2 at this stage as that's all I need but the sound is as I expected out of it awesome. I'm stoked finally my much loved 003 is alive.
You have no idea how little information there is on using this device beyond 2010 or with a PC and especially with Cakewalk.
Happy days all. Bust out your 002,003 who knows if the console works as well?
Happy writing and mixing
Carl
