Downloads for Waves older versions are here (offline installers): https://www.waves.com/downloads?utm_source=Waves-Central&utm_medium=referral#older

thanks - and yes I've already downloaded the offline installers 'just in case' - but shame they felt the need to remove them from Waves Central.  It was basically just trying to put extra barriers up to existing customers who hadn't subscribed - no other reason IMO

I have a feeling the mercury bundle will suffer with lack of new plugins being added.

it had already pretty much slowed to a halt.

The expensive stuff (Clarity Pro and Spherix) was excluded for no good reason - apart from to make more money from their customers.

Sound wise, just as SD3 and EZD3, still very meh. (All their drums sound the same, even the orchestral one has the TT sound signature)

I don't get why they are so successful.

I very respectfully totally disagree ?  I have all the SD2 and SD3 expansions and about 50% of the EZD2/3 - there is a massive difference in the sound character between all the packs.

A simple rule is the newer the release the better the sound - although I still love that 70s dry sound of the original SD2 custom and vintage pack.

To give context I also have BFD3 - AD1/2 - All the NI Kontakt ones etcetera and in my opinion nothing come close to SD3 - in both sound and usability.

I'm not trying to say you're wrong as it's clearly all a matter of opinion (although you are wrong :) - but I'm a TT fanboy so take that into account)

    $29.99 each 🙂🙄😑

mostly - apart from the usual suspects which are full price

no sign of the upgrade options to bundles for existing perpetual users though.

    also Google - "codependency":

"We hate you Waves for what you have done, you are the worst most immoral company" etc etc......"What's that ? You brought us flowers ? ($29.99 plugins) Welcome back, You've convinced me  you'll behave much better from now on"

(not judging anyone for falling for it, just think it's funny how we ALL behave 🕊️)

    Installed! I mean – Pre-ordered!

Pre-order before release May 16 and save up to €20/$20. And for those living in the EU, VAT is included.

    and the UK too ;)

it looks totally superb - exactly what most have been asking for

I'd also say that anybody who doesn't have EZKeys V1 and is thinking of buying should take advantage of the Prerelease sale - if you buy EZkeys V1 you get EZK2 for free on release BUT you'll get the additional MIDI and sounds from your EZK1 pack - so choose wisely.

  6. There's a prerelease announcement on the TT website now

    whoop whoop

    upgrade is 79euro

    full is 179euro

    Released May 16th (damn!)

  7. FWIW looks like Waves have made perpetual licenses available on their website

    $29.99 etc

(still looks a little broken however!)

There are 7 plugins that have been added to my bundles and I don't have yet, it's getting close to the point where the $240 will be worth it for me just for the new plugins I'll be getting. It's not that different from e.g., Arturia charging for an upgrade to V collection.

I shan't comment here on the Arturia comparison apart from to say it's apples/oranges (ie totally different :) )

Personally, I'd suggest you wait a little while before you WUP until the perpetual licences go back on sale.  It's often much cheaper to upgrade your bundle to the next one up, you should get your 7 plugins, plus extra ones from the 'enhanced' bundle - plus you get WUP on that bundle for the year.  Win - Win

Even cheaper if you get from a 3rd party such as everyplugin - but who knows if they'll reinstate all that and obviously we don't know how the upgrade pricing is going to look until Waves get it all back online.

it's possible to make WUP work for you if you're careful  (of course it's just my 2p :))

  9. it's bound to look like EZD3

personally I'm  more than happy to pay - lots of us had about 10 years of use out of V1 - and TT always seem reasonable on upgrade prices (compared to WAVES and their $240 yearly WUP :D )

It's tiresome to download 3 GB every time there is an update and IKM, among other developers, don't care... lol

they care a little bit though I suspect because the CDN will charge them per download, which is why IKM have that awful charge to re-download after 12 months.

UVI win the 'Massive Download For A Tiny Update' award 2023 though.

They consider a 3 GB download for wimps.

    Charge for V1 to V2 😅

can you be more specific,  for what V1 to V2 product  ?

    Pigments ?  Nope.

other bundles when they have added extra products and totally upgraded how the products are coded, yes (but never $240 as stated)

TBH I think you've totally failed to comprehend the difference between how companies normally deal with upgrades/updates and WUP.

It's always worth doing a bit of research  before posting other wise it might make you look a bit foolish (IMO)

  12. yes, Arturia's business model is nothing like Waves

you get 5 (?) licences to use on various machines as standard

upgrades to packages are always actual upgrades

their actual upgrade prices are pretty reasonable (never $240) and always take into account any extra plugins you bought since last time

they actually often update their plugins with audio engine and GUI improvements

they never force you to subscribe

they always allow you to buy a perpetual licences

they regularly update their plugins years after release, for free (I'm currently on Pigments v4 and I only paid for V1)

    etc.

Unfortunately some posters loves to spread misinformed opinion and incorrect, random speculation.

I must admit I thought I saw $250, but as of today being under WUP until 25 Jan 2025; my price to add one more year of WUP for all I own (Abbey Road, Mecury+Studio Classics, Infected Mushroom, Inspire, CR8 and NX) is $240.

Maybe $25 was the old way if under WUP and $240 is the new max even if you are under WUP. I dunno.

probably not worth worrying about the extra $10 but yes - you either wupped something that was already wupped or you added multiple versions of the same plugin.

It's definitely capped at $240  if you follow the waves 'rules' and always was - but they make as difficult as possible so they can get more money from you. :D

You can wait to do this until you need it if you want so I choose to do that.  But I guess I'm taking a risk if they decide to screw us again somewhere down the road.

I think it's unlikely they are gonna try and do that in the short term.  If you are on Windows it's not hugely urgent either as even pretty old Waves plugins still run ok(ish) on Win11.

Personally I'd wait for all the heat to settle down before doing anything - zero rush (IMO!)

The rule with WUP is only do it if it's worthwhile ie:

    1. You have a bundle and they have added plugins that you want

    2. They have added features/fixes to plugins that you think are worth paying for

    3. You need the 2nd licence that WUP gives you

    4. You own an Apple Mac and there is an "R" in the month.

It's often better to check your 'upgrade options' rather than WUP - as it's often much (much!) cheaper and you get extra plugs and a year of WUP thrown in.

I'm worried 'cause the Upgrade options were not back. This was my preferred way to WUP without WUPing.

They haven't restored the purchase option for perpetual plugins yet so I wouldn't expect to see the upgrades.

Having said that who know what they will implement - or what prices they will attempt to charge.

Just a guess, but could it be that the latest update uses features in 7? Seems fairly strange considering it's a relatively old library.

yep - odd.  I'm not sure where NA keeps it's database of what's installed but it's possible that it's got a bit corrupted moving backwards and forwards between v1/v2 ?

  17. I think the youtuber has misunderstood all the stuff  Vocal Rider actually does  - but why let facts get in the way of a youtube video ?

it's also funny at the end when he says there is no difference in the waveform....and there clearly is

also did he pay $249 for it ? - no wonder he's angry :D
