  1. I'm not sure if this was mentioned. I didn't see it. There are panning laws in Cakewalk are there not? I haven't used them because I use the BOZ plugin Dave mentioned when I want to pan a stereo track. Most often though I track acoustic guitars in mono because it avoids so many headaches. Cuts down on the "spacial gobbledy *****" in many mixes. Sometimes even a good stereo panning solution isn't as good as making it stereo using mono tracks panned IMHO due to some of the undesirable effects that can happen with reverb , phase issues and comb filtering. If you have a compromised stereo track there isn't as much you can do to redeem it compared to a mono track. FYI right clicking on a track will let you convert it to mono. Some people are looking for a natural feel to a mix as in a classical composition. Others want more of a pseudo kind of thing, similar to some of the results one can get with many electric guitar plugins. I'm thinking mainly some of those metal mixes that make the guitar more spacial with a chorus effect. This ventures away from the goal of simply panning though so I'll let it at that. I bought the 2CAudio PBJ pack awhile back and thought I would use it to death. Part of it is a psycho acoustic stereo field positioner. It works wonders for small classical ensembles or placing the players in a rock band all in their respective positions without compromising the reverb in the constructed space since that reverb "follows" the position.
  2. Must stay 6ft. from the salami. New rules.
  3. Some things are better left untyped.....whoops did I just type there?
  4. My bud Kenny has better taste than that.....the actual baboon that is. Kudos to whoever did the toenail paint.
  5. This isn't what I expected. I expected you were going to comment that your system was scanning 100,000 plugins. ...which probably would not be untrue 😁
  6. Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft This was my best leaking balloon imitation.
  7. For the Mercury package this seems fair enough. Some users grew tired of what seemed like too many version changes .They lost some customers as a result. It seems PC users might be paying for some of the development for Apple because there likely isn't a separate Apple and PC fund. Right now my next move would probably be Diamond coming from Horizon with 71 added plugins. My voucher is 180.00. This can only be used for half of the purchase price. Mercury would still be pretty expensive for me as an upgrade. Cakewalk is scanning over 1400 plugins in my system....so I doubt I need another EQ or limiter. The channel strips look interesting.I'm not especially impressed by the offerings right now. I'll look into it a little more. Maybe I'll change my mind.
  8. Wait until Kenny gets hold of this one. 😆
  9. But not baboons? They are similar.
  10. If anything, I think they should be rewarding customers who bought so many of their products JMO. Maybe even "grandfather" in a lower rate. Say you own Mercury or whatever the largest package is and have been loyal. That should be worth some kind of a benny. Probably won't happen, but I think it would be a great company gesture to the dedicated loyal customers who bought a lot of stuff.
  11. Since you say "if" I can see that. Plenty of unhealthy young people and healthy older people. In your line of work you probably only see the unhealthy ones. Roight? In any case.....gravity can be your friend.
  12. This is the way I eventually used mine as well. Pushing those harmonies way down in volume. In my case I joined a group with talented vocalists later on and didn't see the need for it any longer. Now I'm back to square 1. No vocalists. I had to let one go who couldn't sing well enough to make it. I was taken to task over it. I quit because they didn't trust me to make those calls even when I was the one designated to make those calls. It was a soap opera but I'll spare you the details. So.........I might need one of those again. That is if I ever play out again.
  13. I guess the social distancing thing went away for these guys? If we are to stay 6ft away, how will they make babies in the future?
  14. I believe the straw hat look is "in" now. You can put it on backwards and no one will know. Show up in California wearing one and immediately everyone will think you're from West Virginia. The number of teeth would determine the exact locale. Marrying your cousin narrows it a bit more. Pope JonBouy? He's a pope now is he? Just tell him he's like the rest of us and I ain't kissing his ring ( or anything else of his). He can take the back of the line just like the rest of us. 😁 On the whole pugs plugs issue. I guess I have been lucky so far. For my Waves plugins I use a non dangling dongle. You could back over my computer with a tractor and all I need to to is obviously replace my computer. After that just move the dongle over, download the portal and wa la. One benefit of a dongle whether it's dangling or not, is the licenses are always there. I am surprised the old Cakewalk server is still online. Quite amazing actually.
  15. I remember that unfortunate incident Dave. Was glad when you were able to recover some of the gear. I can't imagine going through that.
  16. A man took his sick dog to the vet. Vet picks up dog and looks at him. Vet- I believe I'm going to have to put him down Dog owner- OMG!!! WHY!!!! Vet- He's getting heavy.
  17. I feel for you. Pugs can be a real problem...........oh, you said plugs.
  18. Bapu you're on a roll.
  19. I guess I thought about the naked part because I seen a band on Vimeo and they were playing in the buff. I'm not sure where the elephants came from. I guess I was trying to think big.
  20. I had an older version of this. It was just "ok" for me. Nothing spectacular. On a few occasions I forgot to disengage it while talking to the audience. That wasn't cool. The main issue with these boxes is the harmonies are too perfect and end up sounding more robotic than human.
  21. The hardest part might be obtaining toilet paper. I'm getting wiped out just thinking about it. Might find some in church...holy roller? At least we solved the ugly problem.
  22. Well.........this is a pic of me a few years ago. The snow blower in the pic wasn't big enough to do the job so this year I bought another much larger one. ...........................it never snowed. Think of all the music gear I could have bought. Instead I have an 8hp paper weight. Oh Well
  23. My end price was 159.00 for Horizon and a bunch of other plugins I bought. This included a $180.00 voucher.. I updated the Waves portal. The plugins I have probably compare favorably to the Melda MTotalFX Bundle. Check it out HERE. My price for that bundle is $1,913 Dollars. I have a few Melda plugins and they are great plugins, but in answer to the comments that Melda has updates for life. While this is true, I am probably under 500.00 for my collection so far and that includes 2 WUPs.
