  1. Hi Tom Very creative video work! Cool tune - very diverse sonic palette, but well balanced. The mix sounds good to me.

    All Alone

Really cool classic rock vibe here - great song, Douglas!
  3. Hi Steve Nice tune, and good playing! To my ears, the ride bell's a bit loud, compared to the hats. As you mentioned, the bass is a little strong - try pulling the EQ down a bit around 100-150Hz, and maybe try raising a bit around 400Hz. As you do have quite a bit of low end energy going, you might try putting a shelf on most of the other non-bass tracks and lowing a bit around 50-100Hz; don't go too strong, or use a cut like some tutorials say as I often find it leads to a thin mix. That's just a rough guide - if it sounds good, keep it; if it sounds bad, try something else.
  4. You probably know about these already, but here are some uprights that you might like (or not): https://www.modartt.com/pianoteq (there's an upright instrument pack) https://www.fluffyaudio.com/shop/mypiano/
  5. This is cool. I don't usually listen to this type of music, so this could be a naïve statement but - I find it strange that this is classified as lofi. The drums have been rounded off with a low pass, and there's some low level crackliness, but the instruments themselves are actually quite high-fi and pristine sounding; they have a mellow tone, but you can still hear all the highs.
  6. Very cool Freddy. I love how the vocals are both free-flowing and yet keep to time at the same time. Kinda reminds me of Johnny Cash's One Piece At A Time

    The Gas Giants 4

Very nice and atmospheric, Wookiee - successfully paints a picture if you ask me. How did you do the synth 'shimmers' at the beginning?
  8. Very nice - great mix as usual. This one actually gave me more of a cowboy/western feel - sort of like Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive. Great playing!
  9. There's that, but I'm glad for the extra sounds it's made available to me as well. Don't mean to OT this thread, but if you don't know about KLANG, do yourself a favour and check these out too: https://klang.cologne/klang21_free.php

    Request

@Kevin Perry Off the top of my head, I think add these to the exclusion list too (at least for their flagship plugins): Ample Sound (Chinese instrument series only) Heavyocity (flagship plugins) Krotos Liquid Sonics Slate Digital Sonnox For Eventide substitutes: have a look at Polyverse Comet, not quite a versatile, but very good nonetheless; Tritik Irid; and Valhalla's reverbs. For Exponential Audio, consider iZotope's Neoverb, and FabFilter's Pro-R.
  11. This has some really nice pads/ambiences - here's a demo song I did a little while ago using only Desk Bell
  12. Fair enough - didn't realise about the other ones. At the least, this should calm some fears about iZotope going 100% subscription - they still offer their best products for standalone purchase only.
  13. Are you sure? It looks like they are the advanced versions from this (except for RX): https://www.izotope.com/en/memberships.html

    Bye bye SSD's

Anyone remember zip disks and/or jazz drives?
  15. Whatever they're doing, seems like they want to maximise their profits/get a massive cash injection - I'm guessing the group buy brought in quite a bit, and now they've removed the GC discounts. Preparing for an acquisition?
  16. Next thing we know, they'll start expiring too?
  17. KeepForest's libraries sound great, but Devastator Breakout is the perfect description of what would happen to my bank account if I were to pick them up.

    Bye bye SSD's

Finally! A disk that I can install all of Toontrack's SDXs on and have a little space left over for something else 😜
  19. Studio One 5 Artist with every guitar sold too? That could actually be a huge business opportunity.
  20. Maybe Fender models will get added to Ampire?
  21. Don't forget about the 3-packs for SDXs - that's probably the best deal you'll get for the newer ones right now. If anyone does go for that though, do keep an eye on disk requirements, the newer SDXs need quite a bit of space!

    Joyful Memories

Thanks for listening everyone - glad you all liked it. Hope you can and do recover from that, David. That about sums up my knowledge at the moment too. Thanks for planting the seed of an idea though - it may one day grow into something more.
  23. I like the classic rock vibe of this one - great production too. Good job!
  24. Great song there! Love the synth ear candy, and the saturation/distortion works really well.
