  1. Been searching for the problem for days now and I think I found it. The drive I have all projects on and all VSTs seems to be the problem. I saved the tune to another drive and now it works for some reason. Many of my older projects are corrupt or cant even be opened. This is a sad moment even though Im happy I found the problem eventually. Need to get a new SSD and start over again...

EDIT: It was not the HD. It was the port or cable on the motherboard. Switched to another port and so far everything seems fine :). Can't understand though that a faulty port or cable can cause error like this. I thought that if a port/cable is faulty I would not be able to access the HD at all. It was only when I unplugged it and re plugged it again that it would not even boot windows so that was when I changed port.

  2. Just came back after a long break to make music and upgraded from kontakt 6 to kontakt 7(full version). When I use an instrument that requires full kontakt and record a track I can hear what I play but after the first time it is silent. I can see whats happening that the keyboard inside kontakt reacts to what I recorded during playback and all other stuff but without sound. If I switch to another instrument and back it works again but only once. This does not happen in traktion and I did not have this problem earlier. Instruments that dont require the full contact work as intended. I really want to continue using Cakewalk but I need a solution.

EDIT: Found the problem. It was totally my fault. Cakewalk always reset the modulation wheel every time so when on lowest the sound was silent.

  3. When I use the automation in a VST while recording live like the dynamics or something using my mod wheel on my keyboard it can be a bit hard to make it perfect. Is there a way to do this manually like I do with volume by setting out dots and drag ect?

Its a bit hard to explain but added a picture when I use the automation for  dynamics when recording live and I just want to do this manually if its possible.

That would make sense for the terms.  I search for things and run into walls as well.  Sometimes you just don't know what to type in...

    Glad you found it, though.

For reference, if you split something and want to make it whole again, just get your smart tool and drag it back out.  The data is still there.  That's the great thing about non-destructive editing.  If you were comping...well, that's a different story.  Also, keep in mind that when you bounce to clips, it actually creates a new file.  If you do this enough, it could create a bunch of wav files you no longer need, which take up space.  "Clean Audio Folder..." is under the Utilities menu for this purpose.  Careful using this if you have multiple versions of your mix sharing the same audio folder, though.

Sorry for the late answer. Thanks for the additional tips. Will keep em in mind.
