Plus the original topic was how YouTube blocked my video due to an audio copyright, yet it has no audio! 🙄

That really takes the cake. lol

Fun times ahead with AI managing content.

I think I remember mentioning how Facebook automatically put me in time out for two days after I posted my cover of Ozzy's Su*c*de Solution. Because of that word.

Then there's that post I made using a picture I found on Google which was later used in an article that contained false information. My post was thereafter flagged and hidden, even if it had nothing to do with the article. And it seems that there's no way to even appeal.

That's rather trivial, but imagine when something more important is involved. It's already a pain to deal with huge corporations as is...

    Fun times ahead.

Check out "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway".

"Lilywhite Lilith" and the one about the the snakes, can't remember the name if the song, youbwill know it when you hear it. One of my favorite Genesis albums.

    That's the plan.

I've been listening to Nursery Cryme the most, but I've added Fox Trot to the rotation. I'll be adding Selling England and The Lamb gradually. I feel the albums are worth taking the time.

and you're correct, initially netflix has tons of stuff to watch but quickly loses appeal (still better than prime tho haha)

A few years ago, Netflix seemed to drop most of my favorite shows (Cheers, Frasier, That 70's Show) and started pushing more and more a lot or cheap foreign language content. I'm a foreigner myself, I speak a few languages, and to be honest, most of the movies I watch are in Japanese or Chinese. I just didn't like the way they went about it, so I unsubscribed for a bit.

They do have a fantastic selection of K-Drama, if that's one's thing. I keep Netflix mostly for the next season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

The one platform that keeps on surprising me is Tubi. They have lots of classic American series from the 60's, 70's and 80's, and tons of cool old horror movies, and some nice documentaries, too. Honestly I spend more time on Tubi and free platforms like Pluto than on any paid platform. There's ads, but that's why G-d invented the mute button.

Amazon used to be great, but now it's like a hub. 3/4 of the movies I would be interested in require an additional subscription. And most of the free ones that I like come through Freevee, so there's ads too.

Probably blasphemy to many, but I think 90125 is the best Yes album all the way through. Particularly the vocals on Leave It. Vocals start shortly after the 2 minute mark.

I can do much worse - I don't get Yes at all.

That being said, I just got Rush a few years ago, and Genesis last month, so, all hope isn't lost.

And obviously, Owner of a Lonely Heart was such a massive hit that does bring back fond memories.  Ah, 6th grade...

I seem to remember that it sounded quite good in terms of production. I may have to check it out again.

I watched a Linus video about excessive fans in cases.  You really don't need them.  I have 2 not butt ugly gaming cases.  More holes means more noise.  It's noticeable in an 8x10 room with ceramic tile.

The problem with the Apple vs. PC debate is Windows is software while Apple is hardware.  Shouldn't that debate be about Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, AsRock vs. Apple which I do believe uses Foxconn boards.

With Apple products no way would I go to their bottom floor. I couldn't do a 13inch Macbook.  You really need to go to a higher tier of Apple. To me it's like buying a PRS and using a 10watt SS amp just to have the name.

I get your point and I guess it's a matter of determining one needs. I've actually squeezed a lot out of my old 13" MacBook Pro and Logic 9 for the few years we were travelling. And then hooked a monitor to it and used it for another year after we moved here. That 2010 laptop still works just as well as the day I took it out of the box, and I still use it to record ideas when I hang out downstairs in the living room.

It was replaced by a 23" iMac which itself has just been replaced by a 27" iMac.

There are Macs and PCs out there with dozens of times the processing power, but to be honest, maybe I'm an idiot but I really don't need it. If I were working on movie scores with hundreds of tracks, I could definitely see the need. But for what I do, and my own weird kind of music, I never really ran out of power. If a project grows to over 30 or 40 tracks, I feel it's getting out of hand - the problem is not the computer but my old brain that doesn't have the ability to keep up with that kind of track count.

When the time came to replace the old iMac last summer, I debated the idea of moving back to PC quite seriously, because, financially, it made a lot more sense. And Apple really didn't make things easier because in order to meet my requirements, the options they had were extraordinarily limited.

Having been through the process of switching platforms once before definitely contributed to hold me back. And even though I spend 40 hours a week on a Windows PC, I still prefer and feel more comfortable on Mac OS. I would dare say it works better, because the term better is entirely subjective, so that's obviously my take.

And then there's Logic, the software that works the best for me. Although I've kept up with Cubase and really like Studio One, I couldn't imagine not having Logic at the center of my musical life. That software is like an extension of my brain.

So I bit the bullet and got an iMac. And not one of the more recent ones because those didn't meet my requirements - they now come with smaller internal HD (which is completely stupid), fewer ports that aren't compatible with my "legacy" hardware. So let it be said that I have my own share of dislikes when it comes to Apple and their strategies and decisions.

But the one I settled for works perfectly, and in terms of processing power, it has more than enough for my needs - which are admittedly quite modest compared to most people around here.

If I had similar requirements to you guys, of course it would be a no-brainer. There's no way I would fork out the kind of dough that Apple demands for a Mac Pro. I'm just glad I don't need it.

  6. And yet K*nye  lives.

On the other hand, around 5 million children under five die annually, before they even have a chance to pick up a guitar. Maybe the 4-year old club with potential to become a musical genius is even scarier.

Who knows how many of them 5 million kids would be talented artists - heck, there's probably at least a few potential Hendrix and Van Halen nipped in the bud every year.

On the bright side, the vast majority would be K*nye at best, so...
