  6. Thank you for the shout out and the interest in the instruments I've made. The Taiko instrument from that video is included in MSF and can be used in the LE version. There are only a few things I've shown that haven't been made into instruments and added. If you're wondering about the preset names, different people named them. Bones was created by me and I generally try to use more simple practical names, but other people are different. If anyone has questions I'll try to help, but I'm a little busy recently so it might take a few days.

  11. Although it may seem that the hierarchy is Tracks->Lanes->Clips, this isn't actually the case under the hood: Clips are directly owned by the tracks. The lane that a clip appears in is purely a UI concept, with the only exception being lane solo/mute, where some special processing is done to exclude those clips from the audio graph. Adding an effects bin to a lane would not be an easy task, and as others have said, it's something that can be easily accomplished by separate tracks.

  15. As you can guess, most user don't have such issue with Cakewalk. But there can be several reasons (and combinations of them) why you observe it. Please specify: your audio interface, Windows version, audio settings in Cakewalk (driver model and the buffer related numbers), what is approximate delay if the project has one track with single audio clip, does the delay on real project changes if you disable all FXes and either you use or have ever installed ASIO4ALL on this computer. Then the list of suggestions what to check/change/update can be reasonably small.

  20. If you’re into playing guitar, (@ any level really) I’d say it’s worth it. I’ve been using these programs (powertab/tux/guitar pro) for too long to even remember, late 90s early 00’s , if I had to guess. Guitar pro 8 is pretty nice and the learning curve isn’t too steep. And yes, like someone mentioned you can export midi to daws for better vst/au backing tracks. Use it as a compositional tool/ use it in conjunction with a program like transcribe! for transcribing YouTube clips, etc. Lots of practice tools/chord/scale/arpeggio dictionaries. Tons of free tabs available at ultimate guitar (although beware of the accuracy / some tweaking may be necessary) So for $30 , I’d definitely recommend it

  21. I'm with those who say we have tracks/track folders already. Moreover, suppose CbB did support this - how would automation work? You could have the same plug-in in 2 different lanes, and would presumably be able to automate them both - sure, CbB could support it, but it could get messy really quickly - add in the same FX on the track too and you're in envelope confusion hell!

It's free, just enter zero. Inspired by, and reflecting on the theme of water (I live next to the sea). 16 tracks of ambient, contemplative, cinematic work. All written on CWB. Using many of the free instruments I showcase for Pianobook each month here. Again, a free download under a Creative Commons licence. A leap into still water | BEMUSED | Camembert Électrique

  27. Your probably not alone but it is not normal. You might want to post one of the projects that behaves this way and others can see what happens using their systems. You can share projects in drop box etc. My guess is it’s a plug in you always have used. You say this happens with all audio interfaces but have you ever used a good one? The Mackie driver is not that great. I used to have one a few years ago with a mixer my band used.

  30. Sample Rate is important. Any project has fixed sample rate and it can't be changed. So, if your project is already 44.1kHz, you can't change it later. That is why the setting is called "Default for New Project", that is one time decision at the project creation. Also Cakewalk use the audio interface with current project sample rate (only). For several reasons, if you always use the same Sample Rate in Cakewalk better set the same in Windows. Bit depth of everything can be changed any time. And it can be different for different settings at the same time. Obviously the change has no influence on already recorded material, if you have recorded in 16bit, the file will stay 16bit after you change the setting to 24bit. Cakewalk internally process in 32bit (floating point) or 64bit (if 64bit engine setting is activated). Normally render bit depth should be 32bit. 32bit engine data will be saved "as is" and in case of 64bit engine, 32bits is still sufficient (extreme and artificial processing is required to produce any difference in sound between 32bit and 64bit files, such processing is never used in real projects). But record bit depth should be as high as your audio interface support. Most interfaces support 24bit. Note that 16/24bit are fixed point numbers, audio interfaces always sample into fixed point numbers (even so drivers in some modes can transfer the data as 32bit and some interfaces claim they are 32bit). Real bit depth is around 20bit on good interfaces, extra bits are just noise (if you know SNR or Dynamic Range of your interface, you can estimate meaningful bit depth by dividing this number by 6). But every single bit is around 6dB, which you can have as a "headroom" during recording to get equivalent precision. Note that record bit depth is not used till you record audio (probably the case in your setup with Realtek).

  31. Thanks. It's nice of you. I already use protonmail and like it. I have bought it and waiting for licence. PS. I'm registered at 43 different plugin sites. It seems that every plugin that interest me is sold from a different site. Apart from Ample Sound. Is it some law of nature?🤪

  37. I use it alot. It's my main tool for composing. As the name implies it's better suited for guitar music (= "band music") than orchestral music, though. I've used it for years so I'm comfortable writing music with it, but it admittedly has its idiosyncrasies. I guess that depends on what kind of things you want to learn. It would probably be most useful for practicing playing in sync. You can change the tempo and loop the parts you want, which is nice for grinding difficult parts. You can also change the tuning of the instruments, so any obscure tunings are not a problem when you want to play along. But if you just want to learn how to play a song I'm not sure if it's that much better than a traditional tab book.

  39. Exact guyz , thread could be loked for promoting tolerance , love , respect and condamning blind hate , discrimination and illegal behaviour . If brands done that each time a certain country invaded illegaly a country , i think most of people around here couldn't buy any plugin since 30 years .... Back to Ot , crisis makes people think twice and it's a good thing , before buying anything "non necessary" , i feel those non stop agressive prices are a sign of staganation of sales if not decrease ... Seems like some brands don't understand it's not a question of price but of puting something new and impactfull on the table .... some brands really delivers in that aspect ...

  42. ROTFLMAO! Check my forum history, both here and on the old forum, and ask anyone who's been around here for a while about my ability to tease meaning from inadequate problem descriptions and solve problems. Also note that Mark acknowledged and fixed this issue only after I clarified how to reproduce it. In any case, you needn't worry yourself about my compreshension as I won't be reading or responding to any more of your posts. Cheers, Dave

  44. Great cover PC. Just thinking - as the title is Guitar Heavy Remix, you could try EQ-ing the bass slightly at 150Hz; if you push it up a little you should get some deep bass to go with the heavy/aggressive aesthetic. The downside is that you'll 'lose' some thud from the kicks, but you can try some subtle sidechaining/ducking. Sounds good as is though!
