A little while ago someone on this forum commented that all my music was the same and that I never sing, this should set that record straight. As the longer term member here know Wookiee signing is dangerous, it not lethal, to none Wookiee life forms, which explains that in the main. However in this tune, created in CbB, there is a Wookiee vocal that could be fatal to some. I thank those who are brave enough to risk their lives if not their hearing. https://www.bandlab.com/post/2ea86cbd-4230-ed11-b494-000d3a3ee5f3 Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit It Slips away Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Less and Less each day Less and Less each day Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit More Slips away Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Smaller and Smaller still Smaller and Smaller still Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Slip Slipping away Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Gone for evermore Gone for evermore Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Steeper the slide becomes Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Slipping away from here Slipping away from here Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit She Slips away Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit She has Gone away She has Gone away Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Her mind has Slipped away Drip, drip, drip, Bit by Bit Her mind has gone away Her mind has gone away Her mind has Slips away Her mind has gone away Toys Used. I thought I'd try an easy Hendrix song while waiting on inspiration for an original. It turned out to be a Lot more of a challenge than I had anticipated. I adlibbed the leads but tried to hit some of the high points. Any advice on the mix would be Greatly appreciated. Thank You .. mark This is a REMIX Thanks for your help ! mark3 points

I don't use it other than a cursory play with it out of curiosity but I think it's a great idea to make it easier for any of these App based music makers to transition into the DAW world, Keep them in the eco-system3 points

Years ago, Arturia gave theirs away briefly as a freebie, also with tons of presets….one of my favorite freebies of all time. This one is still tempting, though.2 points

On the plus side, I reckon that rather than being "over" this will lead to something of a renaissance of it's use by the many, many people who already have it and have had it for so many years that they have largely forgotten all about it in favour of the newer, shinier things that have come their way, They will fall in love with it all over again.... Because, as we know....... Wait for it..... A little longer...... Absynth makes the heart grow fonder. No, you get your coat.2 points

I'm pleased to present for your enjoyment, a new theme I call Apple Scruffs. I started with the legacy theme, Logical (many thanks to Erik aka Starship Krupa) and then I tried to fold in as many elements of that "other" DAW as I could muster. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2g987va1teqig8f/Apple Scruffs.sth?dl=0 Cheers!1 point

Should be subtitled "Groove on a G for 5 minutes", this is a new track that's going to be on a forthcoming album "Dusty Starbursts and Luminous Quasars". https://www.bandlab.com/xoospacemusic/lumineferous-aether-db6c4981?revId=e6a27fae-2932-ed11-b494-000d3a3ee5f3 It's the first track I've played bass guitar on for a few years, so I may have over-egged it a bit in the Rickenbacker department.1 point

I don't know if this is possible Bakers ... But it would be nice to use the Bandlab instruments in Cakewalk. So when people are moving stuff from Bandlab they can have the instrument in Cakewalk as well. Without converting the midi to audio... Or completely replacing the instrument for the midi. That way you can change midi if needed in CakeWalk. Give a +1 to this thread if you agree.1 point

Deal: 76% off "Minimonsta" by GForce Software Value: €119 Discount: 76% Price: €29 Grab the deal now on http://www.VSTBuzz.com Minimonsta is an award winning, highly detailed and accurate emulation of the original Minimoog® instrument with heaps of attitude. Think of it as a mini emulation on steroids because, until the Minimonsta, numerous clones simply attempted to copy the original instrument and then add one or two features such as polyphony and another LFO, the Minimonsta takes a radically different look at this vintage masterpiece and operates on two levels. It comes with over 6000 factory patches (including many from Rick Wakeman). All original features including 3 oscillators and the famous 4-pole, 24dB/octave filter. Additional LFO & ADSR for modulation of almost every parameter making it the most programmable one yet. Grab the deal now on http://www.VSTBuzz.com!1 point

I don't have a problem with the GR meter but loading presets is a problem. Can't say I have ever bothered with the presets. I also tested with an older version of the compressor (v2.4.83 from 2019), it may have never handled PC presets properly. Individual presets were added to CbB in 2020.04, around the time when Softube v2.4.96 was released. With v2.4.96 all the Softube PC modules started crashing and continued to be a problem until v2.5.39.0 around April 2022 when Softube fixed the crashing problem. Softube is likely unaware of the preset problem. Update: The preset problem is not limited to the FET compressor. I just ran through a few presets using the VST2 and PC versions of TSAR-1R. The PC reverb fails just like the PC compressor. It appears Softube still has some work to do on all their PC modules. Update 2: I am not sure if the per-module preset feature added in CbB 2020.04 works with any 3rd party PC modules. I just took a look at Boz Digital +10db and Hoser XT EQs. Preset seem to fail with these PC modules too. Update 3: After messing with this a little more, it appears the problem may be with how CbB is processing manufacturer supplied presets. Creating and loading new presets seems to work OK. If I had to guess, the problem may be due to the layout differences between the PC and VST plug-ins.1 point

Really too bad. Absynth has never been eclipsed in terms of modulation / envelope control over audio source material. It's probably one of the best samplers (and granular sample engines) and sound design tools ever built, and still used extensively in film sound design and scoring. It's a great example of very very high level experimental synthesis and software engineering. Such a great companion to Reaktor too. Sad day. I know many people that will keep running that synth for a very very long time.1 point

ZAK Sound has a new free VST on their product page today (plus four others for free, if you haven't seen them previously): In addition, the deals page on the site lists a code for $10 of any product -- it's single-use, but looks like it applies to already-discounted items on the deals page as well as the $9 "Lofi Stack" drum loops product (i.e., with $10 off, also free).1 point

They say Gene Krupa is the guy they were all trying to play like. John Bonham - Ginger Baker - Mitch Mitchell - Keith Moon: All say this guy was a big influence on how they played. Maybe that's why they all rocked so hard.1 point

From the Cherry Audio Quadra user guide: "The Cherry Audio Quadra is a super-accurate and immensely improved emulation of the ARP Quadra synthesizer, originally released in 1978. It’s something of a unicorn instrument in that they’re rare, not only because ARP didn’t produce a lot of them, but also because many have been scrapped over the years as a result of their inherent unreliability. That said, the Quadra has developed something of a cult following because they were frequently used by Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks, and the late jazz legend, Joe Zawinul. And Quadras look super cool, in a here-come-the-neon-80s kind of way. (For the trainspotters, you can also find a Quadra wedged between Mickey Thomas's mustache and acres of leather in Jefferson Starship's impressively corny "Find Your Way Back" video.)"1 point

I would definitely use it more if that was the case but now I don't really mess with Bandlab like that sometimes I want to change what I made on the go in cakewalk and to not have the instruments just slows down the process because I have to find a new sound to replace the one from Bandlab1 point

It has hit $32ish before but this last sale didn't have the 50% off for that particular one. Lots of others were 50% off though. This and the Binson Echo had a smaller discount. I may pass for now though it has been on my get eventually list. When I test drive it I kept thinking but would I ever use this instead of others that I have (the CPU hungry but amazing Binson included)1 point

As far as I know: 1. An easy way to do that is just re-import the video: it will save the link to the new source folder 2. I assume that if you did not re-saved your project (which probably will update the video reference pointing - thus erasing it), the project should reopen the video as it was originally. I work a lot with audio for video, and found out that if you don't delete the imported audio from a video source, re-linking the video takes literally no time, as it just points the video, not really import it.1 point

I have T-Racks Tape Echo, but not Pulsar's and I would recommend not demoing this one unless you're prepared to buy it. Some of the demo videos alone made me add it to my list of plugs to consider buying in future if it's the right time/place. A quick listen sounds much better that T-Racks and better as a creative sound design FX too.1 point

agreed. i'm think where the projects are more closely aligned and esp if using the BandLab VST plugin, then really CW would be used for the more granular aspects of tweaking audio / samples / midi before reloading into BL.1 point

Very effective with the visuals, love the synth-y sweeps/FX too. The accidentals* really help with the spacey feel. I liked that - well done! *in the music theory sense; not in any way suggesting unintended notes got in there.1 point

Wow Bjorn . . . that part where you transitioned from galaxies to earthbound hurricanes was a real eye opener ! I like the way you used continual panning movement, and the music through the whole piece is very majestic . . . visually reminding me that the universe is both scary and beautiful out there. Thank you NASA, thank you Bjorn !1 point
