If it's now in closed alpha, then I guess that will be the open beta stage.5 points

For me it is the same as others said. I have Komplete 13 and I am happy with that huge stuff. As I am interested in real instruments this is a really poor release (disappointed). The only new product that's interesting to me is Electric Mint and that's not worth 200 bucks! I had expected some more of their old Softube FX included, but that's also not the case. The PA and iZotope products are not new for me, too! And what I really don't need are additional Play Series products, I have enough of them and almost never use them, because most of their sounds are poor IMO (also compared to their real synths).4 points

Editing in the little blue window, the wave pool, is called "spectral filtering". The main idea with spectral filtering is that you can visually isolate only the frequencies in the waveform that you wish to be audible. The scribbling may not make much sense, but that is just an attempt at randomness hoping for "lucky accidents". Experimentation is rewarded! So you can easily select a portion of the audio spectrogram and only that part of the sound is instantly mapped across your keyboard. The whole idea for the Iris synth got started over 10 years ago when a dev (Dave Spiers - GForce Software) was playing around with an early version of iZotope RX audio editor that had the spectral filtering mode, and then imported the spectrally edited samples into several hardware samplers so that he could layer the results. Thus began the idea of bolting together several sampler modules in a software instrument ... details in the following interview:4 points

https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/komplete-14/ UK update price from K13CE is £449 - but if you look at the new stuff get in K14CE it's really NOT very compelling. In fact pretty poor. I'm going to pass I think - maybe when it's 50% in 12 months ? release date 27th Sept.4 points

Here is a statement from developer of Absynth regarding removal from Komplete14. By the way I really like his Rhizomatic Plasmonic plug-in. It’s awesome. Highly recommended.3 points

I also purchased the Everything bundle and have been given the RX 10 Standard as well. I assumed that I would be getting the advanced version. After reading the small print in the email that I received from iZotope, it basically says that I should receive the Advanced version. Here's what it says, "*If you bought RX 9 Standard you will receive RX 10 Standard FREE; If you bought RX 9 Advanced you will receive RX 10 Advanced FREE; If you bought RX Post Production Suite 6 you will receive RX Post Production Suite 7 FREE; If you bought iZotope Everything Bundle you will receive a FREE upgrade to RX 10 Advanced." Guess I'll have to hit up support and see if they can fix this.3 points

I am on Komplete 13 Standard. Kontakt 7 is pretty much the only compelling thing for me. There are few extra instruments but mostly the Play series, nothing is grabbing my attention. I am on Ozone 9 Advanced so I will probably want to upgrade to 10 Advanced so I am not sure getting standard here would help me. It's an expensive upgrade if Kontakt is the only thing I really want. Probably going to sit it out and wait for a better deal.3 points

The big news for me is Kontakt 7. If it is like previous reports, that will be an awesome step forward. Also, adding stuff from Plugin alliance and iZotope suggests the beginning of a new direction for the series. Otherwise it is the same as 2016, 2018, and 2020. A September announcement in an even-numbered year and the largest version (now CE) would include every previous official NI release since the previous version. Komplete 14 includes Ignition Keys, which just came out a few days ago. I think I called it pretty well here https://vi-control.net/community/threads/is-komplete-14-due-soon-if-so-what-will-be-the-new-libraries.129042/3 points

You know what, I will give Iris another go when I have time. If it's so praised here, maybe I overlooked something.3 points

Seems as though there was still a registry entry pointing to where the file had previously existed. The Cakewalk Plug-In Manager still showed a Melodyne entry in the VST3 Audio Effects (VST3) section in the list. When I selected it and clicked remove it told me about the registry entry and asked if I wanted to delete it. I clicked yes. I closed Cakewalk and reopened it and the update prompt was gone. I was unable to delete this question so I just added what I did. Maybe it will help someone else in the future.3 points

First time fully completing a song... Influences - Minus the Bear / Cursive / Mid 2000s emo Think I'll revisit mix after I get some more experience, but let me know what I should rework when I do! Thanks, let me know if you have a track I can check out.2 points

I suspect NI could move a lot more KOMPLETE 13 users by being much more realistic on upgrade pricing £449 is a great deal if you are upgrading from KOMPLETE 8, Lots of new libraries and plugins included since then...... but for K13 users....very little useful new stuff IMO. NI do the same strategy every release so they must feel it's working for them, but this year, when money is tight, I think it might be ineffective.2 points

It's all cool. Easy-to-use and inspiration have their places too. And for the rest of the time, there'll always be PhasePlant, Avenger, F'em, Hyperion, Biotek, Iris, and more...2 points

It was the first email that I received from them earlier this morning. Here's a link to the online version of what was in the email. http://m.news.izotope.com/rest/head/mirrorPage/@LHoILiLWEpyRjoXgqb__wJtdkiKxQ0F9PJqgjvB8DTlpPr2IxV43MU0BX8BnBqyV_-4-pviVUZvm2PZ7A6gidXpdnPbTXaFYzPtw8NwFz5gzjIKX.html?deliveryName=2022.09.07RX10andOzone10LaunchRXLaunch_Fulfillment_EMAIL However, I just received another email from them this afternoon, and the small print now says this ,"*If you bought iZotope Everything Bundle from June 1 to August 3, 2022, you will receive a FREE upgrade to RX 10 Standard as part of your license for Music Production Suite 5 Universal Edition." Here's the link for that one. http://m.news.izotope.com/rest/head/mirrorPage/@ojdn2KskHvNm0BnHk6fHb_UJvl90RYAIhxuLeBucsf1aMh9l2FFPtP48i-V3fcEUDknlfCQbZ8dCIzLzePsRXyvsiEsuAVJuJf5-8Hp1VqxMxDa0.html?deliveryName=2022.09.07RX10andOzone10LaunchRXLaunch_FulfillmentEBRedo_EMAIL This is such a trash move on their part. They should have stated this upfront, unless they did and I missed it somehow. UPDATE! Okay, so I went back and found the email that originally spoke about the free upgrades, and it was in reference to the Music Production Suite 5 Universal Edition and not the Everything bundle. So I guess that technically the upgrade for RX would be for the Standard version in this case and not Advanced. So as was mentioned in the email, those that bought it in between June 1st and August 3rd will receive the upgrade based upon MPS5 and not the Everything bundle. Okay, I guess I stand corrected on this matter.2 points

Completely agree, but Iris was a little too heavy for my CPU when I tried it last. Might give it another go at some point too.2 points

https://youtu.be/FK0HRDOoDC0 September 6, 2022 New Update - StudioRack v14.2.52.174 can now host non-Waves VST3 plugins from any manufacturer. Now you can create and save complete chains, assign plugins to macros, turn any plugin into a multiband tool, and create instant parallel chain splits, with all your Waves plugins as well as your non-Waves VST3 plugins.2 points

This 3rd party plugin capability is apparently a game changer! I have successfully tried several mega FX plugins in Studiorack 14 and they loaded OK. Such as Kilohearts Snap Heap, NI Guitar Rig 6, IK MixBox, IK Amplitube 5 (not all running concurrently). But you can now set up these types of plugins in a single FX chain of your choice, along with the addition of other FX plugins as needed, and save them in one preset! Of course you could setup any plugins and route them as needed in most DAW projects, but these Studiorack presets would be portable between any projects or DAW that you have Studiorack plugin installed in, and accessible with just a click. And when using Studio One, the Studiorack seems to be load balanced and well behaved with several plugins active, as I do not see a single CPU core doing all of the work.2 points

JMO: I find the comments in the Deals section are helpful for making consumer decisions (to buy, or not to buy) when fellow forum members help me to understand what products offer, how they can be used, features they have or don't have compared to other similar products, specific drawbacks users have had, specific genres of music that might match what a product offers, etc.2 points

1) Thanks for the compliment. That's Fizzy Pickle 2) TBH I rarely use libraries in a final product. If I use one in a demo, I'll replace it with live playing. Given the variety of basses I have I can pretty much get what sound I'm looking for.2 points

I’m pretty happy with what I've got. As I’m not going to buy mostly the same libraries over and over again, I’ll be waiting a fair number of releases before I’m even going to consider an upgrade. NI wants me to pay €499 for an upgrade from K12U CE to K14U CE, which to me is pretty ridiculous; Brainworx stuff I don't really care for and when it's time for me to upgrade my MPS 3.1 I'll turn to iZotope directly.2 points

You can easily click for a free 2nd license. I did, and now have 2 of them in my account. This still uses the Waves shell, and as far as I know there is no way around that with Waves plugins.2 points

A friend of mine used to sing loudly "sa ba do" to Metallica's Sad but true until we told him (after a while). I've probably done this myself without knowing it when I was younger. I stopped shouting in public (for a while) when I got older.2 points

Hello to all my CW friends! It's been a long 6 months since I've had much spare time, but here I am with a new song. I recently purchased Waves Harmony and used it on this song to experiment a bit. It's fresh off the press and can be found here: https://soundclick.com/r/s8mawa I managed to listen to some of the new songs here from time to time, and I've been very impressed. I would like to have commented many times, but time has been precious this year. Thanks in advance for your time and good ears! Lynn 9/28/22 Thanks to my co-producers here, I remixed the percussion, smoothed a few rough edges, and slightly rearranged the beats. I also lessened the f/x on my vocals a bit and raised the bass gtr a tad. I think this helped to get me closer to the end.1 point

Jeff, Really fine work. The mix sounds good to me. As others have mentioned, Soothe is a great solution for taming peaks. You could also darken up your reverb but I think this updated track sounds good as is. Regards1 point

Great sounding piece Jeff ! I listened on my small iLoud speaker and it comes across as a great and balanced piano sound. Never understood trying to get a "good" sound on teeny iPhone speakers, as you mention in your original post . . . maybe not engineered for high transient material like a piano ? One thing I've always used to zero in on high transients is to turn on Cakewalk's Peak Marker (in the meter settings) . . . which seeks out and actually flags the rogue peaks . . . then you can go in and destroy them all as needed, and actually saves some time in finding them. Maybe this will help what you're hearing ?1 point

If it would not load in safe mode then the project may be corrupted. If you have set preferences for auto-save and/or versioning try to load one of those (look in the help system for "recover") Copy all the tracks into a new, empty project, close the bad one, see what happens. Check in preferences that your proper audio I/O drivers are selected. (You can do this before opening the project) Delete any master (out to hardware busses), insert new stereo master bus, assign to your audio hardware outputs, then assign all tracks to the master bus. This is a bit drastic, but if the project contains MIDI tracks, try saving as MIDI 1 file. Then if it also contains audio, check <Project><Audio Files> for the locations of the audio clips in the project. Open a new project, import the midi file, then locate and import the audio files from the above location and rebuild the project. If that works, consider 'auto-save' and/or save as 'bundle' CWB file in future.1 point
