From newsletter: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Finally, a new update! The focus for this one was on bug fixes and underhood improvements. I am personally most excited about adding support for native Apple Metal and OpenGL rendering. This will finally solve the problems with GUI speed on macOS! One feature that was requested a lot was to prevent graph reset when presets change. This was added and it will work with most presets, but some will require a reset, however, you will be notified if that happens. Adobe has reached to help me with some crashes in Audition and Premiere Pro, so that is now solved. Also, many other compatibility issues with various DAWs were solved too. I have added support for direct file drag and drop analysis. Translated to English, drag and drop won't increase ram usage while analyzing which will improve stability when analyzing big files. Also, drag and drop now has time remaining estimate which will be super useful when analyzing long audio files. I really want to thank all beta testers! This update required a lot of testing and it couldn't be done without our beta testers! If everything goes well with this update, the next thing will be a new plugin! Can't wait for you to try it out! Changelog: Fixed VST plugin not showing inside EDIUS Fixed VST3 constantly resetting in Adobe Audition Fixed AU plugin not working on some older macOS versions Fixed crash that can occur if loading saved project and using timecode with the auto-reset off Fixed loudness target knob using frac position when manually setting Fixed CPU spike when resetting the graphs Fixed audio dropouts when using higher sample rates Fixed FCPX muting channels when rendering and using 5.1 channel configuration Fixed slow analysis with lower sample rates Fixed mono mpg files do not work with drag and drop on Windows Fixed drag and drop not working with mono or multichannel AIFF files on macOS Fixed true peak max value sometimes not shown in the excel export Fixed true peak not correct on mouseover when the relative scale is used Fixed export creating incomplete graphs for PDF and SVG files Fixed SmartScreen warning on Windows Fixed crash with VST2 and DAVID MultiTrack Editor Fixed crash in Cakewalk Fixed crash with VST2 and Wavelab Fixed crash with Adobe Audition Fixed crash with Adobe Premiere Pro Fixed crash with Soundforge Pro 12 Fixed crash when analyzing huge files on Windows Fixed audio glitches when using VST2 inside Adobe Premiere Pro Fixed big ram usage when analyzing big files Improved VST2 stability in some daws Improved VST3 stability in some daws Rewritten GUI engine. Hardware acceleration is now supported If hardware acceleration is not supported, software rendering will be used Added hold CTRL to set the default preset in the drop-down menu Added option to show both integrated relative and dialog gated readout at the same time Added Analyze File menu item on the standalone application Added HBO, Disney+, EBU R128 S2, and EBU R128 S2 Music streaming presets Added remaining time info for drag and drop Added support for RF64 WAV encoding for analyzing 4gb+ files Removed message box information when exporting graphs Removed support for macOS 10.7 Analyze multi mono files as one file by using .L.wav, .R.wav, etc. extensions with drag and drop Changing the preset won’t reset the measurements unless required Collapsed groups inside drop-down menus are now saved globally Changed color of the focus rectangle in order to make the text more readable The export custom path will be globally retained Other small UI, UX improvements Download: https://youlean.co/download-youlean-loudness-meter3 points

Voxengo SPAN version 3.10 update is now available for download at https://www.voxengo.com/product/span SPAN is a free real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer plugin for professional music and audio production applications. SPAN is available in AudioUnit, AAX, VST, and VST3 plugin formats, for macOS and Windows computers. The list of changes in version 3.10: Internal channel letters were changed to numbers. Level meters can now display input channel names instead of internal channel indices. Added "Stereo Swap" and "Stereo To Mono" routing presets. Added AudioComponents interface to AudioUnit as the ".rsrc" interface may be deprecated in the future. SPAN provides you with a very flexible “mode” system which you can use to setup your spectrum analyzer preferences. You may specify Fourier block size in samples, FFT window overlap percentage, spectrum's visual slope. Beside that you can choose to display secondary spectrum of a desired type (e.g. real-time maximum, all-time maximum). Spectrum can be smoothed out visually for an easier examination.3 points

from email announcement: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dear Customer, We are happy to announce the release of Blue Cat's Axiom 1.5. This new version comes with many improvements and fixes, such as fx tail spillover support and completely revamped factory presets (full change list below). This is a free update that you can download from the same location as the original full version (you may have to refresh the web page): Download Blue Cat's Axiom 1.5 What's New: New Features & Improvements: Tail spillover: activate tail spillover from the toolbar to play effects tail when bypassed (available for Axiom itself or built-in delays and reverbs such as Late Replies). Also applies to sub sections (channel A/B, Pre or Post FX etc.). Revamped Guitar & Bass Factory presets: - New hi hain presets using custom impulse responses (IR). - New responsive clean and crunch presets. - Reduced loudness and spectral balance discrepencies between presets. - Adjusted effects levels to preserve loudness when bypassed. - Adjusted reverb levels on all presets. - Most presets now support input overload gracefully (like "real world" amps): feel free to push the input gain by a few dBs! - New default preset to get started quickly with the software. Arrow keys can now be used to navigate presets, in the main view or in the presets browser. The opacity of the tone map window can now be adjusted for amp simulation and built-in effects. Smoother presets switching. Improved smooth plug-in bypass (faster and smoother transition). Fixes: Fixed: built-in Late Replies sometimes cut delay tail when using plug-ins in the feedback loops. Fixed: output was mono when both A and B are off and I/O configuration is mono to stereo. Fixed: the state of some VST2 plug-ins (which do not save their state as chunks) were not be restored properly if their number of parameters had been changed (e.g. FabFilter Pro-Q's latest update). Mac: fixed GUI performance issues on native P3 displays and improved performance on other displays. Mac: fixed mouse wheel that required large movements to change parameter values. Mac: fixed mouse cursor flickering issues. Mac: fixed Esc key not closing fine edit parameter dialog. Mac Audio Unit: fixed plug-in listing in some host applications (Plogue Bidule...). Enjoy!2 points

I believe that once you have the code you can register it whenever you like. Personnaly, I have seen these promotion go wrong and sometimes the same code sent to two different people. So I don't take chances anymore and jump on the free stuff as fast as frog's tongue lapping a fly!2 points

That puts both my favorite go-to delay and the new Irid regenerative reverb at 36.75EU / $43USD each. https://www.tritik.com/2 points

I was asking in reference to the price it is available at ($9.99) currently. And also the fact that I am no sound engineer so using other plugins might be a bit of learning curve for me. But since it was mentioned, which of Waves Plugins would do a similar/better job? I'll check if I own any already. Edit: There's still about an hour to go before the $20 code expires. Hope I can decide before that. Else I will probably buy the Green Screamer and the Blue Chorus.2 points

from KVR: Someone was able to modify our main web page and insert a small piece of code that redirected the users to the other site. They accessed the web page through Magento Connect, which is the extension downloader for Magento (our eCommerce platform), and did not have access to our server or database. Our checkout page was not modified at all and there is no evidence that they gained access to anyone's personal information, and the vulnerability that allowed them to gain that access has been closed. In addition, I had disabled our servers as soon as I found out about the issue, after which point there was no data available for them to access.1 point

Great job covering this, its another high-quality cover thats become your trademark. That said, I'm much more appreciative of your very detailed production notes! They're absolutely great and have opened my eyes to techniques I would never have thought of. Thank you for that.1 point

Not sure the procedure, but I was sure I wanted it, so whatever happens, as long as I get it within a month or so, I can live with it.1 point

I checked out your recommended midi keyboard. I'm pondering about a new one. My old Korg 707 miss notes sometimes. Probably corrosion on the metallic parts of the keys. It would be great to be able to see what midi it have direct on the first view, without to move on to Amazon, Thomann or Gear4Music for the details. Todays kb's seem to be 90% usb midi, 8% usb plus din-midi and 2% din-midi. Why is that a need to know? Well, usb midi locks you to one particular pc. Din-midi gives you more connection possibilities where one kb can serve several pc's. (Usb is hard to split to several pc's).1 point

Say what??!! Oh I see now, he's talking to @Zo!! : ) LOL!!1 point

I would have to agree. I can get better results with Izotope and Waves stuff. I did try it a few times and never really got what I was looking for so I haven't been back to it lately.1 point

Everything I got from JRR I could have got from another dealer. For not much more than what JRR charges. I kept going with JRR because he is such a nice and helpful guy. And I hope he gets it sorted out. Good luck Uncle E. Like I already said, luv ya man!! However... And... This^^^^^ Agreed. And this is all I have been saying for the last couple of months. I mean I hung in there for the last two years with the website troubles. But when I saw the redirection.... come on!! Duh! All that said, if he gets his site going again, and it stays that way for a reasonable period of time, I may be back. I won't rule out never buying from him again. But certainly not right now. Good luck again Uncle E.1 point

The way the Tracks Pane works right now, a left-click is required, and the mouse cursor must be over the control to change it. In the Tracks Pane, if you forget to click the control you want to change, and you hover the mouse over it and move the mouse wheel, nothing will happen. But at least it doesn't change the wrong control. Some people will prefer to just move the mouse over the control and not have to left-click it before using the mouse wheel. Maybe the best thing to do is make this the default for both the Tracks Pane and Console Pane, and add a settable option to require a left-click first. The Tracks Pane and Console Pane would then be consistent. Right now, a left-click is required in the Tracks Pane, but not in the Console Pane.1 point

They might not store credit card numbers, but they store order histories and invoices which will contain addresses etc.; to say everything is safe because they don't handle payment transactions is only half an assurance. Personally, I don't care if the site is down because it's a botched migration, they forgot to pay bills, or because a trainee destroyed the whole site trying to deploy to production for the first time: the site is down, and it would be nice if they gave a transparent (even if simplified/redacted) explanation and estimated time frame of if/when it will be restored.1 point

He's been saying it was gonna get fixed for how long now? Nope. Ain't buying that. Just something we can't put our finger on is going on over there. And he's not being candid about it. I understood that. Still not acceptable for me. I'm out. Just way too many options out there.1 point

Agreed. Though I'm not 100% content with just Phoenix...there are times when I also want some character....and that is what R4 is for. (hoping they run another cross grade offer so I can get a 2nd seat at a time when I have some funds to spare).1 point

Hi ABull, Great idea for a song 'World War Me', ideally highlighting people's self obsession and at the same time super hero complexes in which they think they can change the world - or is that just me ? I enjoyed the track very much and liked the backing vocals especially. Thanks for sharing, Good Job! regards paul1 point
-
Like this - and lyrics to match the times..perhaps!!! Good mix although have to say if it were me I would want to beef up the drums and bass a bit - just a personal choice! Good job Nigel1 point
-
Fixed. I'm giving serious thought to the $16 MReverbMB deal just to be able to mess with the 3-D spaces, but the fact that I have a couple of Phoenix licenses is slowing me down.1 point

$16 for the Melda mReverbMB is an excelent deal. this was the first mb reverb I used, and really learned a lot from it. I know Melda has always been dogged by the GUI, but if I had to design the UI for such powerful plugins that have common elements with other plugins the company makes...... lets just say ya'll lucky!!1 point
-
I really like this song. It has a very pop and cheery sound with some very poignant lyrics (they match the times). The vocal and BGV's were very good as was that lead guitar that came in toward the end. Nice one indeed!!!1 point
-
...but it sure does look nice! And I'll bet it sounds pretty phenomenal too. PS. I did pick up the Melda reverb for $15, which will count approximately $28 towards a bundle upgrade someday, so it was an "investment".1 point

I wanted to do a public shout out to @Noel Borthwickfor some exceptional support. I’ve had sort of an odd problem and Noel had a Zoom session to sort it out - and what he fixed will be appearing in a future release. unbelievable support !!1 point

Good song, well balanced mix, all the elements work well together. I like the guitar lead and the backing vocals panning. Only thing I think could be a slight bit better is the lead vocals are a little off a few times, if it was me I would melodyne them but otherwise nothing I would change. They are ok as is, but would be perfect if melodyned, you have a good voice!1 point

Kind of an upbeat "poppy" soundtrack to depressing subject matter; a sign of the times, that... your demo is fine musically, but are we? t1 point
