  6. It would be nice to see more Cakewalk products back in circulation under the BandLab brand. I imagine those who sold libraries for Cakewalk synths would like to see it happen as well.

  7. Like their other sims, $29 intro pricing. That's through June 30. Full price is $137 but they seem to have frequent sales. https://www.nembriniaudio.com/products/sound-master-custom-tube-guitar-amplifier Looks like a clone of the 2-channel Fender Tone Master head from around the 90s. Note Fender has recently reused the Tone Master name for their digital recreation of a deluxe. It's not that one. Found via youtube, but doesn't look super-widely announced yet

  10. Boz took a lot of flak for initially pricing this at $300. He honestly thought it was that good. So did I. But there just wasn't a market for a $300 delay plugin, and it floundered. Even when the price came down to $150, the demand was not huge. Not when you can get goodies such as the wonderful tritik delay for 50 EUR. So I am delighted that it can now be had for 25 bucks. Now everyone can enjoy this top-tier effect. It's my absolute favorite for vocals because you can get that lush thickening that doesn't draw attention to itself, doesn't slur consonants or otherwise muddy the vocal.

  11. Far from be even not good enough They literally are keeping people away of WUPs... They just need to do WUP revolution like 29$ revolution For instance now with 25% off I get $20 for WUP for my aphex v9 what is madness. It is working... Why should I even consider it? But if it were like $1 theat would be different story I could consider to WUP some plugs from time to time and probably many people... Waves, wake up...

  12. We recommend that users who had previous versions of SONAR install that and its related content first, then install Cakewalk by Bandlab. Then you'll have access to all your previous content in the latest version of the app. SONAR Platinum/Professional/Artist can still be downloaded and installed via Cakewalk Command Center.

  15. I, too, own multiple DAW products - Pro Tools, Ableton, Studio One, FL Studio, Cakewalk, and as you say, each have their strengths and weaknesses, or differences. What some folks do, is to use multiple DAW products to work on a given project - doing the midi work in one, some of the audio work in another, perhaps a 3rd for some of the editing or sequencing, etc..... The products are tools, and having and using them does not have to be exclusive one versus another - you can do some of the work in one, and some of the work in another. Bob Bone

  20. This was the first song I recorded in Cakewalk four months ago. Perhaps I was overly ambitious. Anyway, I just listened to it again two weeks ago and it was like finding a moldy loaf of bread in the cupboard. I've learned SO MUCH since then. So I decided to record it again! And here it is. New Stuff: Strings on the middle eight! Better integration of harmony vocals MUCH better drum track Better sound and compression on the bass Feedback welcome.

  21. Agreed. For the price they ask? No, they don't offer enough to make it worth any Bang-For-The-Buck investment. Yep. This is just me thinking out loud, but if they offered WUP like they do the $29 plugins, they may have another steady stream of income.

  24. That is not creepy - It's relaxing It's the same sound I use to get to sleep at night. I record sounds when I go camping in the mountains, and this is the kind of sound I use to block traffic and neighbour noise. I've got a speaker system setup with a similar sound playing 24hrs

  26. You do have good ears - I was using Izotope's imager software to widen the stereo field (as I do on most of my songs). I'll keep this in the back of my mind in the future. Thanks to your furry ears once again.

  27. well, I run Cakewalk on an i5/16gb RAM with a Babyface interface at 64. I also have one of the latest MOTU interfaces that works almost as well. I have multiple songs of various genre I am working on now with 50 tracks. Omnisphere fully loaded, East West Play full loaded, Izotopes and Waves plug-ins on many busses and sidechains, Komplete kontrol wurlitzer, rhodes, Ivory, and Ravenscroft on the same song. CPU intensive plug-ins. I have to move that up to 128 when mixing with all this going on. Very stable. I don't think Reaper is superior. Computer system problems are hell. I don't think Cakewalk is the problem.

  33. I am going to circle back and try to focus on this thread, to try to figure out what to look at. I am on the phone, at the moment, helping a friend get up to speed on using Cakewalk, so it will be a couple hours - maybe less - and then I will be able to focus on this thread. I have been on the phone, or going back and forth in writing, with several different folks, since 2:00 this aftenoon Bob Bone

  34. The notion behind temporarily disabling WiFi drivers, is that some WiFi drivers can interfere with the kinds of streaming audio tasks that Cakewalk and other DAW software does, and can mess up te audio. The disabling of the WiFi drivers should only be temporary, after which you would test out any effect on your audio in Cakewalk. Once you have determined whether or not having them disabled makes your audio issues clear up in Cakewalk, you can enable the WiFi drivers again, in Device Manager. IF you found that having the WiFi drivers temporarily disabled while using Cakewalk, then you might just want to incorporate the temporary disabling if them, just ahead of launching Cakewalk, and after finishing with your Cakewalk session, just reverse the process - enabling the WiFi drivers again. Worth a quick test to see Bob Bone

  39. Yeah I'm pretty impressed with how they all handled it and provided the correct keys. I had trouble reading one of the DVD's but it did work when copied on my Mac. I guess the first machine didn't have a dual layer DVD drive. I was going to buy some more but I got suckered in to buying the Komplete upgrade from Best Service. I will pick up more loops from them at some point because I feel that I have to have them. lol

  40. We're currently looking into these issues. From what I've noticed so far there's a few issues: Cakewalk isn't always getting connection/disconnection notifications from Windows. Interestingly though, if Windows Device Manager is running at the time, the notifications are received instantly. Not all users are seeing this issue though. If you re-connect a MIDI devices while Cakewalk is running (and Cakewalk does actually get notified about it). Cakewalk doesn't enable it- it leaves it unchecked. Related to (2) - if you go into preferences and change anything. in any page, the MIDI preferences are overwritten meaning that your unchecked devices are saved as unchecked. Until we sort the issues out, there are a few things you can do in the meantime: Always use the same USB ports for MIDI devices, and always plug in your devices before you start Cakewalk If possible, make sure they're plugged in before starting your PC so they're always assigned same device ID by Windows. If you have a stable MIDI setup you want to keep, consider making TTSSEQ.INI read-only. This will prevent Cakewalk from overwriting it. Make sure USB sleep is disabled in your power options.

  42. Firstly, whatever DAW you find that best meets your needs, and feels like a good fit - THAT is the DAW to go with. We all have our own ways of approaching music production, and we all have different levels of technical awareness, different sorts of 3rd-party plugins, and preferences, etc.... SO - my thought would be, that whatever DAW you happen to be in, getting the tracks recorded, at decent levels, so that you can move on to mix, seems pretty universally common-sensical, and in the mixing phase of a project, plugins work the same - same knobs etc., whichever DAW they are in, and such. And then any differences for editing functionality, automation, and all that - the different DAW suites DO present similar funactionality, with differences in how tasks are accomplished, and lastly, in general terms, one might be easier to do some audio-related tasks, while another may excel at doing things with MIDI data. I would say, as an observation in general, that someone trying to force any of the DAW programs to do things that it wasn't meant to do, or finding fault with any of them because something did not go as expected, when insufficient consultation with the avaiable documentation, can be rather unfair, if that is how somebody is approaching using any one of the DAW products. Each of them does do things a bit differently, so even if someone has some level of understanding of one or more of them, and tries to brute force one that they are not familiar with, to try to do something - when they have not bothered to even take a cursory tour of either the DAW or its documentation - well, that to me would be expected to result in less than the ideal or desired outcome. At the end of the day, whatever it all distills down to, for each of us, is what matters, so whatever anyone's choice, or choices, ends up being - WAHOO! Make music and be happy in doing it, and sharing it.

  43. The goal of creating finely crafted and recorded music that was done solely at ones own personal home studio is a noble aspiration ... Where else can I spend all my time and money on putting my best foot forward and creating the best music I am capable of . What a rush it is to finally post my new song . Now all of a sudden we are in the same league as all the professional bands and musicians that have gone before us ... I am always truly humbled to the core two or three weeks after posting my new song . WOW it may have gotten a hundred listens ... Yes all this adulation and fame can be a real challenge to keep in check ...... I don't know how some people do it ... Kenny
