  1. Yes . . . Essential Studio I'll be on my way

  2. If I go for it, this will be my 5th major upgrade since starting with Melodyne at version 1. Each time, I told myself no, the old version already does everything I need and the new features don't justify the upgrade price. And each time, Celemony eventually came around with an offer I couldn't refuse. But that usually happened a year after the release. Not saying that'll happen again, but they've been consistent in the past. It's a sensible strategy: snag all the instant-upgraders in the first round, then come back later to scoop up the stragglers. I'll be one of those. I've done the same with Kontakt and Ozone, both of which have consistently seduced me into belated upgrades with an "ok, what about this price?" email.

  3. Numerous fixes and improvements across the board. For many the headline will be a scalable GUI on several plugins, inc. VSM-3, VSC-2, Iron and Townhouse. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products.html

  7. This is one of the best update ever... I finished 3 songs from scratch to master in 2 consecutive days since installing this EA... I guess the update brings some positive hocus pocus good energy to my mental state to work faster and better... Yay! WTG team!

  8. Fooled around with this for a few hours last night. I didn't own Scaler 1 so I don't know what is new. I put in simple chord progressions and then did different voicings. I have never seen anything that provides so many options. Not just simple inversions, like EZKeys. Different voicings is my favorite thing about the NI picked series, but this has so much more and this will allow me to do it with any library. One of the coolest is that it can take all your chords and put a single bass note underneath each one. That's a new one for me. This changes all of them into very complex chords. And you don't just put a C under a progression in the key of C--you can put an E under it and it gets reeally weird. It's amazing how much you can do with this just by putting in a few chords and then experimenting. Maybe too amazing, as I could get lost in it. The onboard instruments are remarkably good. I highly recommend downloading them as they help you get the most out of it. For example, the guitars are the best way to test the strumming options. But seriously there are a diverse set of sounds, from synth pads to orchestral that quickly show you how these musical progressions can work. Then I tried all the auto-player stuff. There's so many greato-soundingoptions and a lot of them are terrific. At its heart, this is very similar to the kind of tech in EZKeys and ujam instruments. You also don't need to put chords on the pads (like ujam, not like toontrack) You can just play chords and it will auto-play them. The only thing I found weird was their naming system, which is classical music-oriented. Maybe not the most intuitive language for the punters? I would rather have teir phrases be genre based. Scaler 2 offers you a bunch of bossa nova chord progressions. It would be cool to put a guitar on them and then play them with bossa nova phrases. But I don't want to complain about something that is really great and adds to all the other innovations in arps out there from Sonuscore and others. But it is a beast. I have a lot to learn. All of you who had Scaler 1 are way ahead of me, I'm sure. I think I will continue to make music and writing songs the way I always have. But once I am far along in a piece, I will put my existing chord progression in here and see if I can get some new ideas for accompaniment or voicing. Same thing with EZBass. These are two purchases that I don't think were just GAS. I really can see me using them all the time.

  20. FREE Hammond B3 - HaNon B70 "HaNon B70 is an emulator of the B3 Hammond equipped with a leslie 122. It is based on the emulation of the 91 toneWheels, which rotate permanently at low cost CPU, which allows to have natural keyClicks and a relatively simple synthesis. The leslie is composed of its tube preamp, its tube power amp and the emulation of the 2 rotors as well that first reflections on the body" https://www.lostin70s.com/#/plugins/HaNon B70 download here >>> https://www.lostin70s.com/#/download --- It's quite simple. The only thing I found really bad was the Vibrato simulation that cancels part of the volume and that's why I leave it off.

  21. I love using Melodyne 4 Editor, however, I don't use it very often so i think I will wait for the 50% off email also. I like the new features in version 5 and I though it was way past due for an upgrade to a newer version. Now if we can only get XLN Audio to move their butts and give us an update! 😠

  22. Believe me, I understand completely. I have everything I need to make music for the rest of my life, but they keep coming out with shiny new things I want to own. This month it's EZBass and Scaler 2. Next month it will be something I haven't heard about yet. A lot of us on this forum have this malady, and we don't want to be cured. 🙂

  23. BBC SO Discover Template for Cakewalk: For those who have Cakewalk and bought or grabbed Spitfire's BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover for free, I created a simple Template to load all the instruments of the Orchestra with instrument icons, family colors, the tracks all named and separated in folders. There is no mystery. It is very basic. Just to have a starting point and not spend more than 2 hours assembling everything before starting to create music. Note: This consumes about 5.72 gigs of RAM to load all instruments. Note 2: If you make modifications to the template, it is better to leave the .png image next to the .cwt file when doing SAVE if you still want it to appear as a Template icon on the Cakewalk home screen. --- Thanks to the user @Matthew Sorrels for the track icons and for the other Template Spitfire BBC SO Discover - Cakewalk Template.zip

  26. Recently I did a live stream with a fellow Cakewalk user Bongonzo. On the stream he showcased his methodology from start to finish of creating a beat within Cakewalk by BandLab. Today's video is my reaction to his mix and a behind the scenes of me taking a stab at #mixing it myself. Stay tuned till the end if you want to learn a ton from his arrangement of hip-hop and #trap beats, as well as my methods of getting this mix to another level.

  31. I had no (zero) questions but maybe that's because I had the previous version. I couldn't find any mention on the web page or PDF of supporting 3rd party plugins now or in the future but maybe I missed something. but here's a quick feature list: New supercharged version of Waves’ plugin chainer Build powerful plugin chains using any Waves plugins Move entire plugin chains between DAWs in seconds NEW: 8 macros per chain to create your own ‘custom plugins’ NEW: Easy parallel processing with mono, stereo & M/S parallel racks NEW: Turn any plugin into multiband with multiband split racks NEW: Easy plugin search NEW: Floating plugin windows for convenient plugin control NEW: Over 170 presets for complete plugin chains NEW: Waves V11 compatible Optional: Offload your plugin processing to a SoundGrid server Edit - found this under Tech Specs... gobblygook - looks like they meant to say ' supports Waves 64-bit plugins only' but mangled things

  41. It's hard. When I purged almost all those 32bit plugins and most of the freeware I never used I was sure it was the end of the world. Seriously though, I've been playing this plugin collecting game for a very long long long time. I have no children. I drive the same car I bought new in 2001. I work at home. And I love software. Especially large bundles. My obsession with completing things is my undoing. Wave's Mercury (578 plugins), Melda Complete, NI Ultimate, Eventide Anthology etc and the plugin count goes up pretty fast. But ask me what I really use and the answer is a lot smaller.

  45. To the layman, Samplitude is VERY intimitdating! It's got more features than Carter's has liver pills! When you click on menu item 10,000 choices pop up, and THAT immediately scares a lot of people off. It has a HUGE learning curve, due to having so many features, but it IS a POWERHOUSE of a DAW! I wish that they would update the interface, and the skins aren't much help, but under the hood is a MONSTER!!!
