Made popular in the 60s by legendary rock and jazz musicians, the Wurli is known for its warm vibrato and distinctly sharp tone, cutting through your music like a knife. You can also choose our 'Super Soft' presets for a more mellow sound. DOWNLOAD NOW5 points

For those who are in the position to be staying at home during these challenging times, we want to help make it as easy as possible for you to stay creative. So, for a one-off Plug-in Collective special, we’ve partnered up with AudioThing to bring you the SR-88 plug-in for free as a limited-time giveaway for all members. AudioThing’s SR-88 is a sample-based plug-in emulation of the Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88, a rare analogue drum machine from the ’80s. The instrument features five classic analogue sounds: kick, snare, hi hat 1, hi hat 2, and cymbal, which can be pitched, panned or mixed independently. The AudioThing SR-88 offer expires on April 24th 2020 (4:00PM GMT), is available to download from your Focusrite account and runs in addition to the Mastering the Mix IGNITE and BASSROOM content already available as part of Plug-in Collective. https://focusrite.com/en/news/plug-collective-audiothing-sr-88?utm_campaign=Plug-in Collective - Mar%2FApril 2020&utm_medium=email&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-84CY5l98MGJd3KY7hT1BV6W8zyxAn-RsU19H1OILffdvwpz2EXWDwfTneTI_twghRCSUM3wbEkdE6VaxmE2Q3_OYr2QQ8Rg_Qb8Gr4VRtG1cdn2cU&_hsmi=85379173&utm_source=hs_email&utm_content=85379173&hsCtaTracking=2e6493cd-974c-49c2-b294-903d21abeae7|9fbeb9ac-a6d0-4e35-a2b7-8cd84ef271b73 points

If you have full Kontakt 6.21 it is well worth having. The motion knob is a lot of fun! Only 166 MB download because it is using wavetables. $3.57 including tax.3 points

The loops aren't bad, but they are kind of stuck in UVI/Falcon. You can drag and drop them out, one at a time now (a new feature I think, they updated the library). But otherwise you have to use UVI player. Which is kind of un-Acid like and just bothers me a bit (I like to paint loops not trigger them in a sampler). I've had this for a long, long time and I've used it zero times. The workflow with UVI for loops always made it not worth it.3 points

I have the Acoustic Express, which I got for $19. I really like it. A lot of nice presets. The only thing is, after I got it, I was interested in the full version, which was on intro sale at the time for $49. The upgrade price was... $49! ? But I did think it might be nice to keep picking up the other ones when they came out, but I didn't. Plugins like this (and Finisher) give you the opportunity to quickly cycle through a variety of effects. The only thing is, I sort of have a lot of money invested in specific effects that I use to get what I want. Why use somebody else's EQ or compressor or reverb after you've spent so much $$$$ and time learning how to use your plugs. But the Tonespot plugins sound great. I kind of wish I had all of them, and am glad to have this sampler.2 points

...so this it basically all the free sample sets from last year - packaged up with a FULL kontakt licence. Not new content but appreciated as it gives more people the opportunity to use them. The free samples were/are pretty good too. If you need cheering up, and who doesn't, then try "Tongue in Cheek" and pretend you are scoring a Tex Avery cartoon2 points

I believe it was captured so we can repost later. We will also be using different streaming methods including YouTube live for upcoming sessions. Ryan will be doing one soon, more of a "Tech Tips" stream and that may be on YouTube or another medium.2 points

I know it sounds like heresy, but I experimented and have for a while now been using the UJAM drums for recording my e-drum MIDI performances. It sounds great, and is plug and play. And I'm able to make easy adjustments to the sounds. I'd been using other drum synths, but found that UJAM's drums actually work really well to capture live drum performances and sound great while tracking. Then, to top it off, the mixing after the fact is straightforward, lots of different kit and piece sounds, and as needed I can drag and drop in different patterns as additional ideas. Going for the virtual bass 2.0 packs are an easy decision for me. I've already been using the 1.0, now with drag and drop MIDI that's a big plus.1 point

I just updated my signature, having substantially migrated from my 12-core 2010 Mac Pro to my newly-built AMD 16-core 3950X. I'll try my first serious CbB mixing today. The machine has: AMD 3950X / 128GB RAM (Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200-C16) ASRock x570 Creator Sabrent Gen4 1TB NVMe, Sabrent Gen3 2TB NVMe, 2TB Crucial MX500 10GbE link to external servers : Media server with 4TB SSD RAID-0 and 16TB RAID-0 HDD. Redundant Server with two 12TB RAID HDD's. Cooler Master HAF XB EVO case All the Universal Audio software installs fine, and the UAD-2 Duo PCIe is recognized in the Device Manager, but it fails with a Code-10 (failed to start). So for now, the UAD-2 stays back in the Mac. I have no Thunderbolt devices to test. My M32 mixer/interface is connected via an RME MADI ExpressCard. If anything unexpected happens with Cakewalk or Reaper or Studio One in the new machine that might be relevant to this CbB community, I'll update here.1 point

With an iLok dongle - I don't find the one activation limitation imposed by some creators a limit. You just move the dongle to your other machine if you need those plugins. I'm going to be replacing one of my audio computers soon and the iLok plugins will be the least of my headaches, activation is easy peazy. No challenge & response, locating serial numbers, or computer install limits. If you've got a fair number of Pace protected plugins bite the bullet & get the dongle. The next time you have to set up a new computer for audio you'll thank yourself.1 point
