Hey there

Getting ready to do a remix on short deadline. What is the best way to import many single instruments wav files on multiple tracks? Dont want to do it one at a time- would like to select them all and drop in Cakewalk, but afraid- they will all land on one track. Thank you.

If you select a single track and click file... import audio it will import them all on individual tracks.

It goes faster if the project sample rate matches that of the files.

Thank you for your reply. It does not say, but when looking in properties, it says Audio 2304kbps. Does it means 24bit? Thank you.

When you go to import the audio files and select one file, the dialog box will show you the bit depth and sample rate.

Using P, you can open the preferences to set you bit depth and sample rate for the project to be the same.

Actually I dont remember any dialog boxes when imported. Why I dont understand anybody? Sorry. I imported files. I assume it is 24 bit...

Bit depth is shown on the control bar. Project bit depth is set in preferences-audio files.

To get the dialog i spoke of, file menu, import, audio file... This will open the dialog.

Will this method import all takes for tracks with multiple takes?

Thanks. I should be able to move the take clips into take lanes.

In newer builds you can directly drop multiple wave files into take lanes and it will create new take lanes as necessary.

Thanks Noel. I stay current when I can. So I have 2019.11 build 63 with the patch. I'll try that. I'd remembered a lot take lane improvements were added in one of the recent updates. Thanks for that. Looks like all I will need to do is bounce to tracks take lanes containing multiple clips to get the clips properly aligned in the new mix project.

I'm seldom happy with a mix. So I end up doing lots of re-mixes and am always looking for easy ways to load the tracks from one mix into a clean mix template for another go at it
