Question

I used Melda Productions installer to install a few of their plugins. Afterwards, all other plugins except Melda are gone in Cakewalk Plugin Manager.

I've tried:

  1. Uninstalling. Melda plugins with their installer.
  2. Rescanning all VSTs with every option tried: Show excluded, rescan failed, rescan existing plugins, etc.
  3. When I look at the layout file, all non-Melda plugins are grayed out. VST 2 plugins show up, but no VST 3 plugins.
  4. They're missing in FL Studio too. I don't know if it unregistered the plugins or what.
  5. I made sure all folders that VST scans were there, also.

Please advise. Thanks, guys.

Are you using junctions on your machine for plugins? The only time I have seen things "disappear" that are unrelated is because certain installers require physical directories and will break junctions when installed/uninstalled. I am not sure if Melda does this though, but Corel, Adobe, and sometimes iZotope do it. Just as an aside, you cannot junction the main VST3 directory, but certain VST3 sub directories can be (C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\iZotope is the only sub directory I have junctioned).

Windows Explorer would be a start with things... drill into the scan paths you have in Sonar preferences and see if they are truly empty. If you know the specific name of a plugin, you can also search for that, especially if you use junctions and it is physically on another drive.
