I was always a fan...very sorry to hear the news this morning!

 I saw this last night when they only mentioned the age of the victims and wouldn't say who (but the ages matched). He really took the industry by storm and produced some excellent works (including my personal favorite, "The Princess Bride")... definitely proving the folks wrong who tried to put him down in the beginning with, "Huh? Meathead is going to direct movies now?"

On one of the anniversaries of "Stand By Me" he did an interview and cried when he talked about River Phoenix and the tragedy of what happened to him in real life. His character (Chris) in the movie also died by trying to break up a fight and being stabbed to death

Rob Reiner was so influential and impactful to modern society. If you look at the totality of what he did, I'd dare say it was profound.

He did not deserve to have it end like it did. Assuming what they are saying is correct, getting murdered by your own child has to be the most horrid thing that could happen.
