AxlBrutality Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Finally got sick of a crashing issue I've had for about a month; tried using the reporting form to send in the .dmp files but the uploader times out even for a single .dmp file that takes 2 seconds to upload. (After completing upload, it simply throws error "Upload took too long; connection was lost"). Happens on both Firefox and Edge. I have a Dropbox link with a .zip folder ready to go as an alternative, but the form won't let you submit anything without using the native uploader, even if you uncheck the "I have attached the dump file below" option. P.S.: Cubase automatically sends error reports to Steinberg without users having to jump through all these hoops. @Noel Borthwick
Bass Guitar Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) This is exactly what I got. I added a note telling them that I was trying to upload the crash report but that is the same message I got. it’s been 5 days and I still haven’t received any response at all. In the past I would get an instant reply from the auto response. Then someone would respond and hand out boilerplate information. Doesn’t matter to me. I’ve figured out what is wrong on my own. In the end last time they never followed through with any explanation. It seems like you might get better answers posting in the feedback section. Edited 8 hours ago by Bass Guitar
AxlBrutality Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Wild. For all the vehement insistence over the years that they can't do anything unless we tell them what the problem is and provide the relevant files, seems like they would, you know...have a viable option for us to do that. Whatever I guess. I'm in the middle of a transition to Cubase anyway; just have a few almost-finished projects in Cake that I wanted to knock out without having to convert. Figured I'd try to help them on the way out as a last dying gasp of naive loyalty after being with this software since 2004 ish. 1
Bass Guitar Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I’m in same situation. I just upgraded to Cubase 15. I have also been learning S1. I don’t think this intended by what is left of the Cakewalk staff. I think it’s a very small crew now. I have noticed that even Noel rarely answers questions here lately.
Jonathan Sasor Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago What form are you trying to upload to? The best way to send reports to development is going to the report a problem form via the help menu in the app. This has a place for you to put links to files
Bass Guitar Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The one I’ve always used is you Google Sonar support and on that page it asks you log in and the submit a request
