I do not have a controller wheel, so I draw my CC data by hand. Many of the instruments, especially the winds, do not respond to CC7, CC11 or even CC7 data. Any suggestions or hints would be welcomed.

I just created an instance of GPO 5 inside Sonar 2025.  Part 1 has been set to the Alto Flute PTR1. Its MIDI channel is set to 1.

For the MIDI track that is routed to GPO, I have set its MIDI channel to 1.  I enabled “Input Echo”

Playing the MIDI controller, while adjusting the Volume slider (which sends CC7 events), changes the volume of the flute.

I was also able to program the change of volume by drawing the  CC7 events in the PRV CC7 Controller lane.

I tried other presets.  Worked fine with them as well.

For the MIDI track that is routed to GPO, have you set the MIDI channel correctly?

Alternatively, if the MIDI channel  of the MIDI track that is routed to GPO is set to “None”, have you made sure the MIDI channel of the CC7 events is set to the correct channel?

Thank you for your reply. For the flute is seems to respond, further down the winds it stops doing so.

Can you give me the exact name of a preset that does not respond.  I will test that specific patch.

I seem to get a response when I use VST2 plug ins. So I am going to work with that for a while. Thank you so much for your help.

There are a handful of plugins that just had a VST3 wrapper applied to the VST2 version that caused issues when used as VST3 (a lot of posts on the old forum regarding this). GPO 5 is old enough that it may still fall into that category. When the VST3 fails, checking the VST2 version (if available) is always something to check.
