Well finally a new track after what 9 months?  As I see on  your youtube page.  I look forward to every new track and make more sooner please!   Dig the 'clean' elect guitar tone in the solo.

Thanks for the kind words @MichaelJohn appreciate it. I was surprised when I saw my last song was 9 months ago, time is flying to fast. I had 2 surgeries since then that put a stop to my sax playing. The flute is easier on the body so started playing that more. Now I can pick up the sax again. It's also hard to come up with new stuff that doesn't sound like repeating the same old thing.

Sounds great as usual....but, am I hearing an intermittent "popping artifact" throughout most of the song??

Thanks for checking it out @Larry T..    I don't hear it. Is it the muted guitar plucking that's panned to one side maybe?

I put on the headphones and listened. No, it's dead center. Starts at 00:04, then 00:09, then 00:13....keeps on until the first section ends around 00:42, then goes away for section 2, then reappears again when section 1 starts again. Repeats this pattern until end of piece.

@Larry T. I think I found what you are talking about. There is bass string noise that kind of clicks. Good thing you brought this up because soloing the bass track I found some badness that I had to fix.  I can't fix the Youtube video but I made a soundcloud track. Let me know if you hear anything, you have better ears than me!

You fixed it. The bass string click is gone. Great work, as always.

Great flute and and guitar parts and mix. The clean guitar sound is perfect I think. The prominent bass level seems right to me for this.

Really liking the flute. Sounds great so good job on playing the instrument. I'm not into jazz/progressive genre but it always gets me into an upbeat mood when I hear it.

I listened to the video version, I like the track, its a great jammy lights out jazz thing, and very expressive, particularly the excellent flute playing!

Mix-wise, to my taste its a bit clinical and dry sounding, as if it is all close mic'd. I was wanting a bit more room sound, something medium and wood panelled, particularly with that nice fretless bass tone. But that of course is just personal preference, isn't it? Might be worth experimenting with, or not.

Thanks for the thoughts on the mix @PhonoBrainer, I've never used any verb on a bass track, maybe a tiny bit would be good, I'll try it. I did clean the bass track up quite a bit on the soundcloud version.
