carlo Posted yesterday at 06:28 PM Posted yesterday at 06:28 PM The following Cakewalk Sonar warning has been appearing more often lately. It usually shows up when I'm trying to load a heavy library, but now it appeared when it was completely stopped and I was listening to music on VLC player! When it happens Cakewalk stops responding and it`s not possible to load anything or even run Cakewalk and I have to reset my PC! Any tips? Thanks.
Promidi Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Very little to go on. What are your PC specs. What driver mode, sample rate, bit depth and buffer size are you using? Have you opened an errant project in Safe mode to rule out a problem with a plugin? Can it be assumed that you have already tried uninstalling, (updating if necessary) your Audio Interface drivers. If you have confirmed that your hard drive(s) are in good condition, what tools have you used to confirm this?
Jim Fogle Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago My guess is you are using an ASIO driver with your audio interface. The other program (such as the VLC player) is not releasing the ASIO driver so Cakewalk Sonar can use the audio interface. Try changinging the audio driver settings to something other than ASIO in the other program. 1
mettelus Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Also check Windows Sound properties for the device and make sure both exclusive mode options are unchecked. Windows itself can deny access to apps if another is already using it when those exclusive mode options are checked.
