Mage_et_lent Posted Thursday at 09:07 AM Posted Thursday at 09:07 AM (edited) Hello. After being unable to activate CdBandlab anymore, I reinstalled my old Platinum. It was a long and difficult work, but I got all except the z3ta+ presets. the vst is there, I can use it as FX, but the presets are all blank. Any idea I could get them back ? Any info (for example the type and extensions, path) would help me. Many thanks in advance. EDIT : Loading an old project, the presets show up. So they are somewhere, but where ? EDIT2 : Saving the bank in the z3ta+ window allowed me to reload it in a new project. So, except that i have to reload it each time, I consider my problem as SOLVED. Sorry to have run the bell in vain, but maybe it could help someone... Edited Thursday at 10:17 AM by Mage_et_lent

EDIT2 : Saving the bank in the z3ta+ window allowed me to reload it in a new project. So, except that i have to reload it each time, I consider my problem as SOLVED. I haven't loaded banks into z3ta+ [version 1.5, IIRC] in a while, but the problem sounds familiar. I vaguely remember (not even 50% sure) finding the new location for the banks. IIRC (not even 50% sure) there was a change in Windows [security / protection ] that protected the location where banks were saved to / restored from. If my brain still worked the way it used to, I might be able to sort this out. I am not sure I reinstalled z3ta+ after my C Drive reconstruction, but I will look. Bad news for me: I found the 1.5.3 setup file, but now I have to find the original CD and hope I have the serial number! 😞 I used to save everything, but I no longer can remember where anything is. 😞 Edited Thursday at 02:07 PM by user905133

Amberwolf Posted Thursday at 06:46 PM Posted Thursday at 06:46 PM Are these the presets that came with it during it's installation, or presets you created within projects? If the latter, then unless you save that preset from within the project, exporting it to an FXP or FXB, it doesn't exist outside that project or at best inside your currently installed Windows version's registry. Also, if you poke around there are other preset bundles like the Muz3um ones, though I don't rmemeber if they also work on the original z3ta+ (I think I used some of them with z3ta+2).

Shouldn't need one if you have higher tiered SONAR version installers. It can be installed with or without the full program. There's even a 32 bit standalone. Mine is v1.5.4 probably from X1. Mage_et_lent Posted Thursday at 10:34 PM Author Posted Thursday at 10:34 PM Good news ! I made a template that I load to start any new song. And my presets are there and work a marvel, like a long time ago. By the way, I enjoy being working again with Platinum, without all the bugs that came afterwards (sorry Noel, I do have respect for you). and missing the few new commodities they brought. But that was also unfair to stop your servers activating. Thanks to all of you, Answerers ! I don't come here very often. I should, sharing with all of you users that live happily with Cakewalk daily, like I do. 1
