jkoseattle
I bought a Casio full size digital piano to play and practice on. I love the convenience of on-board sound and don't care that it's not the greatest piano sound ever. Good enough and terrific action. Anyway, I am trying to use it with Sonar and while it's okay, it seems unreliable. Sometimes Sonar doesn't let me record with the keyboard, and its comprehension of sustain pedal is wonky. Are these artifacts of the thing not being built to be a Midi controller in the first place, or do these symptoms point to some other problem? Amberwolf
What MIDI interface are you using between it and the computer? How long are the cables?
mettelus
Which digital piano model are you running? CASIO's website is a bit convoluted so things can be hard to find, but I would start with the manuals section for your model. One of the manuals that may pop up at the bottom is "MIDI Implementation," which will detail the nuances of your particular model. Some models note that they are "compatible" but not "fully compliant," so keep that in mind while searching.
