Kurt Barkdull
when i click view piano roll in a midi track its full screen. Cant drag or find a way to dock it under track screen. It used to be under my tracks and somehow it's undocked and fills up screen. There is no way to drag piano bar that i can find to undock.
reginaldStjohn
If your piano roll view is undocked you need to show the multidock (shorcut key 'D') and then click on the title bar of the piano roll view and drag it to the multidock until it turns blueish. This should dock it in the multidock.
Kurt Barkdull
Ho Reginald and thanks for getting back. I'm not having any luck. I've used Sonar for years and never had this issue. I start out with the first picture showing midi tracks and selected midi track and did r' click to go to view piano roll. It then goes to second pick which is full screen piano roll. I cant find anyway to get that screen to dock so I can see tracks. The piano roll always opened on bottom underneath tracks but that somehow changed. you mentioned the shotcut D key but I'm not sure when or where to push the D key as have tried it but nothing happens. Pressing the D key should toggle hide/show for your Multidock, which in your case has your piano roll in it. Shift+D to maximize/restore it. If your piano roll isn't in the Multidock, you can click on the Window icon at the left of the Piano Roll view's title bar and select Dock in multidock. But it looks like your PRV is in the Multidock, and the Multidock is maximized. Try Shift+D. If it has no effect, go into Keyboard Shortcuts and make sure the D key hasn't been assigned to some other function. You said that you pressed R to get to your Piano Roll, but R is assigned to record by default. Default mapping to show Piano Roll is Alt+3, so you must have fiddled with your key bindings at some point.
Kurt Barkdull
Hi Eric, If you highlight a track and r' click it brings up options to select different functions and thats where I access piano roll . Has always worked like that. Unfortunately shift D doesnt work and I've never messed with anything. Looks like I'm stuck as there is no way to minimize. There must be some setting somewhere but not finding it. Should be a totally simple thing as have used cakewalk and sonus for years and never had this issue. I can undock the control bar, etc. but piano roll has issues. \

Hi Kurt. I believe your Piano Roll view is in the following state: It is undocked, disabled floating, and maximized. Click on this window control button to restore:. Then decide whether to "enable floating" or "dock in Multidoc" using the window control menu: Then you can follow the instructions suggested by others in this thread.
