Murray Webster
Hi all, I have a dilemma, like a lot of people, I guess. I have a powerful Win 10 laptop in for repair quote, which can't 'officially' be updated to Win 11 (i7-7700 desktop processor). So wondering whether it's viable to keep it going. What's the deal with Cakewalk authorisations? Is there likely to be a scenario where a project that's created on a Win 11 machine can't be opened on a Win 10 machine or that a new Sonar version simply can't be installed or authorised on Win 10, and the current version won't run anymore? Then of course there is the decision to unofficially upgrade to Win 11 via Rufus etc. Many thanks! Murray Webster
Something I said? Also, when re-installing software from the last 20 years do I follow the usual sequence up to Platinum and then skip CbB and go straight to subscription Sonar? Thanks! Platinum alone wil get you most of the bundled plugins. But there are a few which date back prior to that, such as: Analyst Bit Meter R-Mix Pantheon Spectral Fx Vintage Channel Plus a load of old 32 bit plugs And if you want V-Vocal, you'll have to do a minimum install of X2

But my question was whether I need to install CbB or will the new Sonar suffice? Is CbB available for new installs? I haven't used it since I subscribed. And what is the situation with future Win10 support for Sonar - could a future version invalidate moving projects across machines? Thanks! And tbf, CbB won't give you anything more than you'd get by installing Platinum followed by new Sonar.
