projectm
It’s actually pretty good. Cool freebie👍👍 BTW: I put the RAT (RAW?) from UAD in front of this and got a pink rock guitar sound I remember from my youth. Not the greatest tone but very nostalgic from we used similar gear back in the day.

For a minute there I thought an entire musical genre had passed me by. Wouldn't be the first time. The only RAT-type plugin I have is the Black Distortion from Nembrini Audio. I've only tried them together after reading your post, and it does seem to be a good combination. And it's free. Nembrini Audio Free Plugins. Nembrini Audio Free Plugins. Plugin Alliance also has a free rat bx_blackdist2 I have both but never use them. Best in the box option is a tonex capture of a boutique rat. But I prefer using an actual RAT based circuit as I think the in the box options fall short, and there are inexpensive pedals that get you there. The RAT is one of the best guitar dirt circuits as it is really versatile. Setting the gain really low and pushing the output for boost/OD is great and at higher gain settings can get fuzzy enough to get fuzz tones that can actually cut in a mix.
