BobXX
Sincerely I don't like to work with the current Sonar Premium colour interface, IMO it isn't friendly and it's tiring. I've subscribed all the same on trust the Sonar Premium, but in the meantime I would continue to use the CBB until Premium will have a more user friendly colors choices and objects drawing (se below a sample comparison). Please help. EDIT 04/10/2025: see a solution in a following reply here in one of my replies in this topic. Bass Guitar
You’re not alone in that but sadly the answer is no. They have 100% replaced Cakewalk with New Sonar. The option a few of us have chosen is to using Sonar Platinum until they solve the problems.
Michael Vogel
@Bass Guitar What is it about colors that you would forgo 8 years of bug fixes and major developments for Sonar Platinum. Just asking out of curiosity.
MozartMan
Well, it is October 1, 12:25 pm EDT. I just opened Cakewalk by Bandlab and it activated. I don't know how long it will last though.

Just asking out of curiosity. I don’t really care about colour but I find it has become very hard to see icons and stuff that was not a problem before. It is not a Daw for old farts like me. That’s fine. I’m not exactly sure what bugs they might have fixed but so far after 3 months I have not found anything. Im actually pretty amazed at how much is actually still there! It’s only a few little things I have been missing like Workspaces and the Add Tracks dialogue. This is more about wanting to own my software than about colour. I will most certainly be first in line for a permanent license. But we are censored for taking about this.
Michael Vogel
I’m a 72 year old fart so I understand visual issues too. I still have Splat installed but don’t use it for production. Its presence when I open it does tell me how far Sonar’s come since the Gibson days. Admittedly I’m not doing as much audio production as I used to, choosing to focus on playing live with others as that opportunity has arisen quite by chance. Thanks for replying. Cheers.
BobXX
@Bass Guitar @Michael Vogel Fortunately my CBB is still working. In the meantime trying and trying... I've found that there is just one usable (the only one!) and not tiring UI, the "Mercury Classic", (it is also similar to the old CBB / Platinum "Mercury", not the same real similarity for Tungsten), Just go in the Preferences / Customisation / Colors settings: at least buttons and other details are visible: Mercury Classic on Sonar free/Premium: Mercury on CBB: Edited Saturday at 03:27 PM by BobXX
Bass Guitar
The other thing that makes it better for me was cranking up the saturation a bit.
