Application Expired Alert!

Hi Cakewalk friends,


Today my Cakewalk Free Tier version refuses to save asking for updating it! I have tried to update to a more recent version and refresh activation but it says Application Expired and Activation in Progress and refresh to get status! How should I update it? Do I need to buy a license in order to use it or is there any Free Cakewalk option we can still use? THX

Yes, update to the latest version, build 036. That will authorize.

Well, I am trying to update but it doesn`t happen! The same message is showing!

How should I update to the 036 version?

The message is telling you that the current build you are running has been superseded by another build that has important fixes.
As Jon mentioned, we updated the build on Friday due to a new version, due to a problem that could potentially cause data loss. Updating to build 36 should work fine.

Please check your internet connection/reboot PC etc. It's probably a temporary internet issue that's preventing you from reaching the download server.
Also go to help | check for updates to retry the check.

Now everything is working good.

I have received the following message from the support team:

We're incredibly sorry for the frustration. There was a slight hiccup with the recent update that was not released properly for all users. We're aware of this issue and have already released a fix to all users. Please try accessing Cakewalk Product Center and downloading the latest version of Cakewalk Sonar build 2025.09 in order to resolve the activation issue. Ensure you're logging in to Product Center and Sonar (via Help > Sign in to BandLab) using your BandLab free account or membership account to activate and unlock all addons and plugins fully.
 
If you're still experiencing activation issues, please go to Help> About Sonar and take a screenshot of the version of Cakewalk Sonar you're running.
