Michael Richards
I get this a lot, and for a long time. Is there a reason why Sonar doesn't always display the accurate length of a note? Mark, can you help?
Wookiee
@Michael Richards one thing to appreciate about the staff view is that it has received very little love since 1992. It was very nearly dropped on the introduction of the X series. I believe it uses a very specific font for notes consequently not all note lengths are available, only the standard down to 1/16 and appropriate subdivisions of triplets etc. No random note lengths. Jonathan Sasor
@Michael Richards Fill and Trim Durations will impact how notes display in the Staff View.
Michael Richards
Jonathan, thank you. As soon as I get back to the studio I will check the fill and trim durations. It’s probably been a year since I looked at that. Wookiee is probably right. The staff view (my main view) seems very similar to a 1990s staff view. I get the feeling I am the only person who always relies on it. Without it, I would leave Cakewalk. Please don’t drop it.
Mauro Gaspa
Hi @Michael Richards. I also use the staff a lot, and you're not the only one. I've always had trouble editing very high notes, even if they're in the treble clef, because they fall outside the display and can't be edited. Another user had already reported this in the past, but I don't remember how it resolved itself. Currently, this problem persists. In fact, no substantial changes have been made to the staff functionality since then.
57Gregy
I don't even read music (quickly) and I use the staff view a lot.

I use the staff view more less exclusively as I can hear/see the music, I only use the PRV for drums. So you are not alone.
