Scott Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I currently use the Bass Amp in Guitar Rig 5. It does a decent job but I'm wondering if there is anything better you've found. thanks
dantarbill Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Not sure I can speak to "better or worse than Guitar Rig" but I can say that I like and use Studio Devil's Virtual Bass Amp Pro. 1
reginaldStjohn Posted September 23 Posted September 23 IK Multimedia Amplitube or ToneX. I also use Line 6 Helix Native. 1

Also bear in mind that you can use FX both before and after an amp sim rather than just relying on its internal FX. If the internal FX are not up to what you want, there is nothing stopping you from disabling them and using others in an FX chain after the amp sim (IR loaders, EQs, reverbs, etc.). Even prior to the amp sim, you can enhance/trim a signal before the amp sim sees it (this alone sometimes adds more tonal control than the amp sim can do internally).
MisterGreen Posted September 23 Posted September 23 My go-to is Amplitube. It's really cheap right now.
rsinger Posted September 24 Posted September 24 I use both THU and guitar rig 7. THU has two ampeg models I like and in GR7 I use the ICM amps - bass invader and bass rage. I have amplitube Max but haven't tried any of the bass amps.
Xoo Posted September 25 Posted September 25 THU has a Marshall "Bass" guitar sim. If it's good enough for Lemmy...
TracingArcs Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I get a lot of mileage out of Bass Professor MKII by Sonic Anomaly. Particularly on Acoustic Upright Bass. Plus some other great plugins from him. https://web.archive.org/web/20190926213601/http://www.sonic.supermaailma.net/plugins
