I am a cakewalk youtuber from China, aiming to provide Chinese users with better free DAW

After the latest 2025.9 (Build032) update, I am unable to use the free sampling library mentioned in the update log. In the browser on the right, I can see the "Free" icon, but when I drag the free samples into the track, it prompts me to "get membership"

Just updated and when I start Sonar I get:

I'm English in the UK so I cannot see how I can reset it back to English.

UPDATE: I managed to "guess select" a different language (turned out to be Portuguese) which, after a restart, allowed me to see and select Ingles so I can now see what I'm doing again in English.

I also noticed that it took much longer to start up than normal.

Yes this wasn't intentional. We'll investigate and fix it soon.

Please try build 033 that we just released. This should resolve the issue.

This is a doozie, after installing the latest release, bounce to tracks on completion did not display the bounced audio track, regardless the bounced track was in the project audio folder. I followed up testing with new projects using no FX, a single synth (Track Folder, Midi Track, 1st Audio Out) and various Source Categories & Render options. Only in one instance did I see the bounced audio track which could not be reproduced. This occurred with & without headphones, I even rebooted the computer to no effect with the same the results. I’m on the latest W10 update with Realtek audio device (I know, not the best audio).

 

This did not happen with the previous release, I only hope there’s a hot fix, I don’t believe it’s my system...

Thank you to the Sonar development team for urgently fixing the bug. Now, free sampling is available! However, the synchronization project speed function under the sampling library does not work.

They import as a standard non-stretched audio file. You can then make them time stretch to your project by enabling looping on them (select the clip, then CTRL + L)

Unable to reproduce this on our end. If waveforms aren't drawing, that's usually either an issue with the audio driver or the picture cache. Double check that you're using the correct driver for your device. You can clear the existing picture cache which defaults to C:\Cakewalk Projects\Picture Cache and it will redraw all of your waveforms.

It seems like a good update, with a speedier load - although is there any way of bringing my old Sonitus FX DX plugins back? They've now disappeared. I know they're being replaced by the VST 3 ones, but on some of them (the compressor and reverb) I much, much prefer the old interface. It would be nice to keep the choice. I tried adding them back in with the plugin layout settings but they simply no longer appear.

FWIW, I also updated to the new 033 build and this time the language stayed as English.

I also noticed that the startup was really fast compared to previous builds (pretty much on a par with CbB).

You need to uncheck both of these in preferences, and do another VST scan:
