charles kasler Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I just noticed it's sitting there, can I free up some space safely by deleting it? Just not sure about shared plugins with sonar. Thank you.
Jeremy Oakes Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Personally i would leave it in place, its footprint is small. You never know what shared files or plugs the uninstaller may move. On my PC i have X2, Splat, CbB and Sonar. J 2
Bristol_Jonesey Posted September 16 Posted September 16 NO! Leave it where it is, for the reasons mentioned by Jeremy above. You could quite easily end up in a world of pain if you delete it. 1
David Baay Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Actually, if you don't intend to use Platinum ever again (or you only installed it to get plugins as I did on my laptops), it shouldn't be a problem to delete its Content folder as all those directories will only be referenced by Platinum, either based on Folder Location paths in Preferences or by Platinum-specific registry entries (e.g. for the metronome samples). But you'll want to copy any custom content you might have created in Platinum like FX Chain and Prochannel Presets, Project Templates, Track Templates etc. to their respective Sonar folders. What I've been doing for years is maintaining a common set of content folders directly under Cakewalk Content to which all installed versions of Sonar/CbB/SONAR refer. 3 1
