johntrem
Hello, I've been using Cakewalk by Bandlab for all the years it has been available and had a Bandlab account for that. I recently clicked on a link in Cakewalk to get an offer for the Paid Membership version. I clicked on it and said I'd like to try the paid membership. It then asked me to begin by starting an account. Is that right? Do you have to create a new account if you're getting the paid membership to get the paid version of sonar? I'd appreciate it if staff could comment on this. Or fellow users (who already had accounts to get Cakewalk by Bandlab.) Did you have to create a new account to get the new paid version of Sonar? Also, when prompted to start an account to get the paid version, it asked for my birthday, which is only a few years past VJ-Day. Why do they need this? Thanks for any help. Bristol_Jonesey
No, there's no requirement to open a new account. I'm still using my old Bandlab Account for Sonar. Send an email to support@cakewalk.com

Bass Guitar
Take note that it goes on sale for half price. I think it’s full price right now. Just use the free version and eventually you will get a toast notification offering a better deal. Most people just lie about their birthday they are just data mining which is harmless. You can most certainly use your long time Cakewalk email to create your Membership account. Start with logging into the Cakewalk Product Manager using the same email you used to sign in here.
