I have 32GB RAM now, and was wondering if it would be overkill to bump that up to 64GB? I run CW Sonar newest version, and generally run multiple instances of plugins, like Omnisphere, Keyscape, and audio FX plugs. I don't do much video, but once in awhile I'll take on a video project, nothing elaborate though. Things have been running good with 32GB, I'm just thinking maybe with technology advancing I could get ahead of the curve if I bump up to 64GB. I think I'm going to bump it up to 64GB. I think what I have in there now is DDR4, not sure if my motherboard will take the newer RAM, but good suggestion worth considering. As JonD mentioned, some of Omnisphere's sample patches are huge, so if more RAM will help them load quicker that would be beneficial. Even more so, Keyscape has all keyboards, including many patches of their Grand Pianos that are really fat, and in general, Omnisphere uses lots of FX processing too. I am curious, aside from VSTs and Audio FX, which other functions of CW Sonar require more RAM, and also which require more processor function.
