David Murray
I recently switched from Cakewalk By Bandlab to the free version of Cakewalk Sonar. Every time I load Cakewalk Sonar, I get a message saying "Session Expired Your sign-in session has expired. Please sign in again to continue. Sign In to BandLab." I can ignore it and the session proceeds without issue. I can click the link to sign-in and the session proceeds without issue. What I can't seem to figure out how to do is convince Cakewalk Sonar that I'm no longer using Cakewalk by Bandlab and the message is entirely unnecessary. ----- The second issue is I can no longer use Melodyne 4 Editor. It's installed as a VST2 effect and the folder is included on the list of folders Sonar scans at startup. Sonar "finds" it when I do a scan, etc. My effect increased from 64 to 65 after pointing it to the folder. I've tried adding it as a REGION FX and also tried adding it to the FX bin. I just can't find it anywhere on the list of effects. Is Melodyne 4 Editor not compatible with the new Cakewalk Sonar? Thanks for the help! Amberwolf
Well, Sonar is still by bandlab, and you still have to be signed in to use it, AFAIK. There are a few threads/posts about signin / persistence issues that might have solutions to that (sorry I don't have any links). I don't have any pointers on the melodyne issue though. Bass Guitar
To use Melodyne it has to be registered with Your Celemony account. Just like Addictive drums and most plugins that you buy. Melodyne 4 is now really old and a basic version was included with Cakewalk. But it still had to be activated with a Celemony account. When Melodyne 5 came out they discontinued handing out free licenses to Cakewalk and a bunch of other Daw’s that use Ara. The installer was there but it became a 30 day demo. Coming up this fall is the Black Friday sales and Thats the best time to purchase an upgrade. Your old version 4 should get you a discount on upgrades. David Murray
Thanks. After creating this thread, I did find something online saying Melodyne 4 doesn't play well with Windows 11. I use Cakewalk so infrequently now and Melodyne even less, so I guess I'll go back to trying to sing more on pitch rather than upgrading!
