Edward Allen Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Hi Is there a simple way to know the duration of any particular section of an audio file (or for that matter multiple audio tracks) I've tried highlighting sections and reviewing all the various control panel elements I can find but I'm not seeing a "one simple number" way to know the length in ideally milliseconds of a selected section. Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance
David Baay Posted yesterday at 06:38 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:38 AM Clicking the Export module will show the length of the selection in SMPTE (hours:minutes:seconds:frames). To get milliseconds, add milliseconds scale to the Timeline, enable Aim Assist with X and toggle Aim Assist Time on with Alt+X. As you drag a selection in the Timeline, the Aim Assist Time will show the duration of the drag as well as the current position.
Bristol_Jonesey Posted yesterday at 06:43 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:43 AM Another way: Drag across the section you're interested in Right click top open the Split dialog Choose Split at Selection Then you can read off the length in the Clip Properties pane. Change format to Seconds
Wookiee Posted yesterday at 08:45 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:45 AM @Edward Allen, you are aware that Sonar can display three different scale rules at the top of the track view?
