Annoiyng issue with Sonar, all first proyects opened appears collapse!!

Hi, since the last update, every time i open a project appears collapsed !!! Why? This is annoying.

By the way the last two updates seems to be more slow than the past updates!!

Any help?

(2) Is it not collapsed if you use a different Workspace (other than Arranger )?

I think the OP is referring to all track and bus heights being minimized which another user also reported. I checked, and I don't think Workspaces can control track heights.

Seeing the language is Spanish makes me wonder if this might be a Locale-specifc issue.

All tracks are collapsed, but only the first project that i opened, if i open another after, they display fine

But why is only the first project he opens affected? And how is a Workspace affecting track heights? I'm not seeing that track height is controlled by Workspaces...?

I also have this problem, and like the OP it clears up if I open another project, or open the same one again.

It doesn't seem to be to do with Workspaces.

I've also been getting this. It's like sometimes the layout of the project doesn't load. It usually will if you immediately close (without saving) and reload the same project. 

I *think* it might just affect track heights and vertical zoom levels, but will have to double check the next time it happens.

I'm getting this also. The problem seems to only be initiated when opening Sonar. The first project selected now displays with all tracks minimalized (collapsed). Then the second, and any subsequent projects opened display ok, with the correct (saved) track heights. Closing an individual project and reopening it - without closing the Sonar program - does not mess things up, but it's when I completely close Sonar and then come back - the first project opened has this problem.  The program seems to be imposing a default display setting on the first file opened instead of preserving the saved settings.

@Art Penner is this reproducible for you consistently? I.e when you open Sonar the first project you open has tracks minimized? If so please contact me and we can try and troubleshoot it further.
Anyone who has this issue, it would be useful to record a short video that shows the the sequence of operations from when you open Sonar to reproducing the issue.

Noel, yes it is consistent. If I do not close cakewalk but only close the project, and then reopen it, all is as I left it. But if I close the cakewalk program and then reopen it, my first project opened has all of the tracks collapsed. And if I then open a second project, the track heights on that second file are ok - as they were saved. Thanks!

I began experiencing the same problem described by Mr. Diaz and others after installing v. 2025.08, build 014 (I believe), and it has continued with builds 033 and 035.   It occurs whenever I use any Workspace other than None or when I use a custom workspace I've made.  I reported it to Cakewalk support and asked them to explain what the relationship is between Workspaces and the way Quick Start opens a project--no response yet.  If I initiate Sonar, close the Quick Start screen, click on File and select a project, it opens exactly as I saved it, regardless of what Workspace I was using when it was saved.  But this issue with Quick Start is something new.

One other related issue:  for several months now, users have not been able to prevent the Quick Start screen from appearing after Sonar is initiated regardless of the box in the lower-left corner of the screen not being checked or the box in Preferences>Customization>Display being unchecked for Quick Start.  It's a small thing for some users, but it should have been cleared up a long time ago.

We've identified the cause of this issue, and will issue a fix with the next update.

It was a regression caused by another bug fix for a more severe start up problem. 

For now if you see this issue, you can circumvent it by closing the start screen once after the app opens, then after that you can reopen it and the project should open without any issues.
