steve@baselines.com
The stillness of the late-night hospital room is broken only by the gentle pulse of monitors. The air is thick with the overpowering perfume of flowers—an offering of comfort that feels almost intrusive. It’s quiet, but not peaceful. https://baselines.com/?p=7413 1

It's probably not a subject that's going to end up in a top 40 song, but it doesn't matter in the long run....what comes out, comes out. Wookiee
Well I don't know what hospital you experienced, but my recent stay it was far from quite. Even in the side ward, just me, the rest of the ward sounded like war had broken out.

This vignette was from an experience in 1978, at a hospital that is no longer in existence. Things change, sometimes for the worse. I'm not sure anyplace is truly quiet anymore. Thanks for dropping a comment, and hope you are doing well.

bjornpdx Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM Steve, The arrangement seems tricky but you pulled it off well. Music seemed kind of upbeat which didn't quite fit the lyrics, but just my opinion. I like the repeated measure (~3:18 to end) which gave a sense of waiting for something to happen. Very well done. -Bjorn

I figured the minor key would do it, but maybe it needs more. steve
