I played around with it more, and the buttons do function correctly, but only after I've opened a project file. I tried adjusting everything and saving a new workspace anyway just to see, but it didn't seem to have any effect when re-opening Cakewalk. So, unfortunately, I'm still not sure this will work for me. Did you configure your Workspace not to load Windows Layouts?

And to be 100% certain, I just tested it with and without that setting applied. I also tested it with and without the "Apply Workspace on Project Load" toggle applied, but nothing seems to have any influence over the main window on startup. But, at this point, I'm like 90% confident that it's a bug relating to alternative snap positions. As another test, I just tried full-screening the entire Cakewalk window, closing the program and– tada! It remembered to stay full screen when I reopened it. So, it seems like Cakewalk only struggles to remember its position when you're using a snap position that isn't full screen. In my case, I snap the main window into the left half of my monitor and then drag the console view into its own window to fill the right half of my monitor. EDIT: Oh and semi-related but the Quick Start window doesn't seem to remember its size/position no matter what. That's sorta unrelated but also would be super nice if it did. Арсений Гордеев
I'm playing with the matrix view, and I thought it would be great to be able to record loops in real time, rather than just playing back pre-recorded loops. I'm writing this here with the hope of learning if this feature will be available in future builds
Barry Seymour
I'm afraid I have to post an issue, although I'm unsure if this is unique to this release. I have long passages of MIDI strings, played by hand by me, rather badly. After a lot of fixing, I want to go back and smooth out the MIDI velocity for all the notes. However the click and drag technique is spotty; sometimes it just stops working. Same for Shift+Click+Drag; sometimes it just doesn't work. Sometimes restarting Sonar fixes it, other times not. I can't imagine they would remove it.

I have to think something is going on with your mouse/driver. If you're using a wireless mouse maybe change/charge the battery. Do you still have CbB installed and it's working normally?

That would be my conclusion too. Certainly some custom mouse drivers can cause issues in Sonar - reverting to the standard Microsoft driver usually fixes things. Noel Borthwick
Sonar 2025.08 Update 2 build 31.08.0.033 has been released. This is an exciting release that coincides with the release of our Cakewalk Core Plugins, a powerful suite of nine essential track effects. You can read more about the plugins and download them if you have BandLab membership. This update has deep integration with these plugins and several performance optimizations that you can read about in the links above. To post feedback on the Core Plugins use this thread. 2

Robert Glaser
Just installed Sonar New in build 31.08.0.033 (Update 2) I can't see or access the Scale pane anymore in keyboard view. The Controller pane is shown here and you can seel that it's set to show velocity. Unfortunately I can't see the keyboard or the Edit Filter. This is in any file that I open or any screen set I choose. How do I revert to the update 1 because I can't work at all with this.
Robert Glaser
There's no "grabber" in mine. The only grabber shown in the last picture expands the clip properties, not the scale pane. In the attached, you'll notice there's nothing to grab.

Robert Glaser
Yes, that's why I posted the second shot. Besides the grabber for the scale pane would be centered next to the pane and not include the track pane above it. Also undocking the PRV didn't help. The scale pane and/or the grabber for it aren't there Is there a way to access/download the previous build from July 31? This could be relevant. I have two mice I use on my PC, the same model, one uses the dongle plugged into the PC and the other uses a dongle plugged into my external keyboard. Will research, thanks. There's never been a 'grab-handle' for the scale pane; you just need to hover at the left edge of the PRV notes pane until you see the double-arrow cursor, then click and drag. 1
