Paid or free subscription

I upgraded my free BandLab to the paid subscription, and now I see it is free again. This kinda feels like my paid lifetime upgrades in my past Sonar life. I have been a  Cakewalk user for decades, and it's the only DAW I have ever used. I bought all the platinum or producer editions of Cakewalk and then the lifetime update scam from Gibson. I have seen no real changes in this program except bug fixes. Cakewalk used to add a lot of new cool features and instruments with each upgrade, but I have seen nothing and have paid for the subscription again. Am I missing something? This is just a hobby for me, but are there new and exciting things I am missing with this paid upgrade?

There is at least one thread here with information about what you get with the subsciptions Sonar versus the free Sonar.  Which to choose really depends on whether you want all the features in the paid Sonar.  

Maybe someone will provide a link with a list of the difference.

I recommend you simply start with the free  version first. Then you will have a chance to learn about the basics of the software. 
Then you can decide if the add ons are worth it. If you have the older versions then you will already be most of the way there.
