I do remember wanting it in the past, but wasn't willing to pay full price for it. But at $8 (10% off coupon with another $1 off using DeluxeBucks), it was a no-brainer for me.

It was on sale for a tenner a few years ago on PB and I didn’t get it. Regretted it and waited and waited and waited until it finally came up on Audio Deluxe for a tenner again. Bought it straight off. It’s really hard to get it set. All notes feedback at the same pitch and don’t sound natural. Maybe you’ll be able to get better use of it than me. To all intents and purposes though any “feedback” I’ve seen from others has been negative. But then again, the Audiothing freebie is probably worth the money. 1 2
Chaps Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Fracture Sounds has a free Feedback Guitar instrument for Kontakt and Kontakt Player, though I haven't found a use for it yet. https://fracturesounds.com/product/blueprint-feedback-guitar/ 1 1
ZincT Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) Got agree with @MrFigg, this sounds so bad - about the most unrealistic sounding and unusable amp feedback I have ever heard. If you try it 100% wet the feedback sounds like a synth with portamento turned on. No wonder it's cheap. I wouldn't even pay $9 for it. If you want decent sounding feedback try https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_AcouFiend/ Edited July 23 by ZincT 2 4
fjz Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Thanks for the feedback, guys (pun intended) Tried it last night, and I agree that it doesn't sound great. But I didn't expect it to sound like I was standing in front of a real guitar cab either. I find I got some results that I like when setting the mix knob somewhere between 8 and 9 o'clock and the feedback just below noon. It added a hint of that (one) higher harmonic to sustained notes that I know I'll be able to use. It's worth the $8 for me, but I'm glad I didn't buy it at full price. I'll have a look at the other options listed above. fj 2
e-cue Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I've long considered this Softube's worst. Unless you like your guitars to sound like whales dry humping in the backseat of a Daewoo in a dairy queen parking lot after hours. 4
Mark Dineen Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I was going to pass on this, but now I'm interested in hearing what that sounds like -- it might be exactly what's needed for a ballad a client brought in.
Marc Cormier Posted July 24 Posted July 24 FWIW, Helix Native has a plugin that does a solid job of emulating feedback, as does ReValver. 2 1
