norfolkmastering
Currently I have three versions of Cakewalk DAW installed on my PC: SONAR Platinum Cakewalk by Bandlab Latest Sonar Can someone tell me which of these versions I can remove without losing any VST plug-ins? Thanks
Bristol_Jonesey
I'd leave them all installed They don't take up THAT much disc space You might affect shared resources and render some plugins unable to activate If you're THAT short of space, time to invest in a new disc. Wedes
I was just thinking the same. I have producer and a few others and was wondering what I could keep, like all the VSTs and accumulated effects from old versions … but now I’m thinking… I never use them anyway…so might as well just delete them….why make music at all…ya know….how many GBs can we chop…just chuck it! Who cares? Who listens?!?! But…ya never know…ya know? Anyway. Yeah, I had the same question.

Depends. Any version that contains plugins that you (or previous required projects) are using is the one that you need to keep. Reinstall Sonar if you choose to remove SONAR Platinum or Cakewalk by Bandlab. Personally, I removed Cakewalk by Bandlab, kept SONAR Platinum, then reinstalled Sonar 2025.
