Tylermob2015
Hi - I built up my DAW over many (expensive) years through Guitar Tracks, Sonar Platinum and Professional and obviously moved to Cakewalk by BandLab a few years ago when Sonar ended. My DAW still has all the features from the higher spec versions from years gone by plus all the new Cakewalk stuff. If I move to Sonar Next or the paid version, will everything I have remain as it is? Do the older users like me out there think it's worth paying (more) for the new paid version? I'm old school guitar / bass etc so don't need zillions of loops or beats so I'm not sure I'll get much value out of the full version. Thanks all.
Bristol_Jonesey
All your old plugins will continue to work. You might have to point to where they are in Plugin manager, As to whether it's worth paying more, only you can answer that. There is a side by side comparison between Free & Paid on the website. This should help

Everything should migrate fine moving from any legacy Cakewalk app to Cakewalk Sonar.
kellyg Posted yesterday at 04:24 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:24 AM I asked pretty much the same question. A lot of the features touted for the new Sonar paid version are features I have already as a result of paying for all the Producer and Premium, 30th anniversary, add-in ProChannel stuff etc. If I use the free version but have all the older versions installed, wonder if I will get things like Powr dithering and such. Plugins from legacy versions will be available, but in-app things such as the dithering algorithm are not available in the free tier. 1
