Tomoko Mikami
I migrated to Sonar from Cakewalk by Bandlab. I would like to use Free Tier so pressed "evaluate" instead of getting a membership subscription. Now, [about Sonar] says it expires after a month. Do I need to get a subscription after this date or do I get to keep updating the evaluation mode?

If you're online, it'll just automatically get this and you can keep working at the free tier, no issue.

Perhaps the notification within the software could be clarified to explain this to users so you and any support personnel at bandlab don't have to keep answering this over and over and over and over and over.....

Tomoko Mikami
@Jonathan Sasor Thank you for clarification! Now I'm relieved! @Amberwolf I'm sorry that you had to see my question again. I searched the forum first for the situation but could not find it. I searched the forum first for the situation but could not find it. No need to apologize--it wasnt' directed at anyone, it is simply a fact that this kind of question is going to be asked dozens, probalby hundreds or thousands of times. Also, there will be even more people that don't ask because they do find the answer in an existing thread, but shouldn't have had to come find it because the software itself should have clarified it for them in it's own message. I'd like to help prevent the wasting of time of support / dev personnel on it, when there are many more important things they could be doing. (FWIW, if a common message to a user of any device, software, etc., requires clarification, it is a poor message--even if it is accurate, if it is not complete it is insufficient and should be replaced with one that does not. You wouldn't want a traffic sign that makes STOP unclear, for instance....

John Vere
While we are on a roll could you please change the default Workspace to “None” so we don’t have to tell new users over, and over, and over that this is why half of the options are missing from view. Thanks.

Thanks. To be clear, you are only talking about doing this for new users / first time initial installations, right? It would be horrible for me (and possibly many other) if it were reset any place else--including updates and reinstallations.
Jonathan Simpson
Hello, I have a question. I hate subscriptions and will not sign up for those, but then you suggest a free tier, however, once I download the free tier option it says I can sign up for the membership or continue the evaluation. This makes it sound like the free tier is only temporary and eventually anyone who uses it will be forced into a paid subscription. So, are you guys ever going to offer a one time, free and clear purchase option or should I just stick with the old Cakewalk by bandlab to avoid being trapped into a paid subscription down the road? You cannot simply continue with Cakewalk by Bandlab. New authorisations will cease exactly one month from today. After that as soon as your licence expires, so will CbB Free Tier is permanent. You will NOT be forced (or blackmailed as one eloquent user suggested) into buying a subscription. 1
