CAKEWALK BY BANDLAB ACCESS

Recommended Posts

Many users still like the Cakewalk Bandlab DAW.  My thought is cakewalk should  still be available to paid users even if they are using Sonar. For several reasons I feel that it would be a plus for Sonar users. With all the updates for sonar if one of the updates goes haywire you could go back to Cakewalk.  I am a paid user and I perform my shows on Cakewalk. I have tried using Sonar for performing. It has a few negatives for me. If I am forced to go to Sonar I will. Not happy about it. Many cakewalk/sonar users rely on this daw for their business.  Band lab should be more flexible.

Worried user.

For the reasons stated and several others, I agree that the loss of Cakewalk by Bandlab (aka CbB) would be a major loss for me and presumably many others.

If at all technologically possible, I would encourage Bandlab to offer a one-time only fee so that the re-authorization server can be maintained, especially for the benefit of long-time users of TTS/Cakewalk software.  Maybe $5, $10, $20, $25 for those who for decades paid for periodic upgrades and maybe $100, $200, $300 for those who only "supported" CbB after the time-tested and legendary DAW (TTS-->SONAR) was offered free.

If "perpetual" is too long,  maybe Bandlab could do something like IK Multimedia does and only license it for thirty years.

The SONAR  UI alone is not worth the subscription.

When will Cakewalk by BandLab stop working?

Cakewalk by BandLab will no longer support activation renewal after August 1, 2025. Existing installations will continue to work until their activation period expires, but no new activations will be possible after that date.
