Alice in Chains, Recording of Dirt

Recommended Posts

the snorkler has just recently been released from bogner,

interesting it went all the way back to this album.

a great guitar sound, but this seems unnecessarily complicated for the end result.

i think several songs could have been better mixed without 6 tracks of rhythm!

love this album.

I think it is fun sometimes to record a bunch of tracks and have them super low in the mix for depth. Is it superfluous? Maybe. But sometimes it fits.

Yeah, I recently left a post about combining two diff piano vsts. The main piano vst I was using had something missing in the mids. I added im the other piano vst at very low volume and put a high & low pass on it.  And I compressed it. It worked perfectly to help feel out the mids a bit.

I also add other parts in my songs that are very low in volume. Although they can't be easily pointed out, they are definitely perceived and help fill out the sound. Cheers
