Astraios
Hi and Hello, there are ten thousand VST plugins, but I'm having trouble finding a really good VST3 MIDI Monitor. I've been using Cescato's VST2 for years inside of Cakewalk Sonar (see photo). I can open two instances simultaneously in FL Studio, but not in Sonar at the moment... Does anyone know of an even better one? MIDI OX is fantastic, but unfortunately, it's not a VST...
Variorum
If you just want to monitor Midi messages, there are a couple of basic MidiFX on TenCrazy.com that will do it. PortDiag: In the course of developing MFX plugs, and in helping people on various newsgroups, I often have a need to peek at an incoming MIDI stream to see what's being generated by the keyboard (or other plugs!). This little plugin help a lot in that department. Now with clipboard copy support! TrackDiag: Mario Bianchi wanted something like PortDiag, but that works on in-track MIDI data instead. TrackDiag can reveal what data is being output from a MIDI track and all the MFX before it. 2
Astraios
And as I see it only works on oddamn 32-bit(ch) and ahhh 😗it has to be started in BitBridge mode to be able to open two instances. There is another (Free) VST-Monitor from AIXDSP, but I'm not able to download it, hmm? Edited Saturday at 06:02 PM by Astraios

I couldn't find a MIDI monitor on their site today. Not a VST but https://www.midimonitor.com runs from your web browser. Also not a VST but MIDI View is a standalone that can have multiple sessions open.

It is available on their Discord Website, but it was a dissapointing show up... As far as I can see "PizMidi Monitor" has best options: https://thepiz.org/plugins/?p=midiMonitor Resizable, scrolling midi monitor. Change background colors to your liking. Optionally shows raw MIDI byte data. Can save log as text or midi file. 64-Bit

sjoens Posted yesterday at 10:40 AM Share Posted yesterday at 10:40 AM I tried that one but the data disappears seconds after displayed so if you don't see it right away it's gone and you have no idea there was any data.
sjoens Posted yesterday at 10:51 AM Share Posted yesterday at 10:51 AM (edited) @Astraios The site you're trying to reach is no longer up. Try these links instead: https://code.google.com/archive/p/pizmidi/downloads https://web.archive.org/web/20170712045242/http://www.thepiz.org/plugins/?p=pizmidi archived website. https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=300566&start=75 last page of his KVR thread. I just googled piz midimonitor. Looks like last update was 2011. Edited yesterday at 10:57 AM by sjoens

sjoens Posted yesterday at 11:12 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:12 AM ... I knew you'd say that, but I didn't see how when I checked.

See those three icons down the left side.... the one you want to click on is the top one (looks like some sliders). That opens up the settings. The one you want is “Timeout Delay”. Set that to “Never” Once I set it up how I like, I save it as a Track Template. 1

Thx for the hint - The concept is unusual but not bad - let's see if I can handle it. I think the CC indicator bar is really cool.
